Same. I honestly don't know what they expected out of Lundin. He has been solid for his role, imo.

Scrivens was solid, but it was a horrible game played by both sides tonight, and undertstandable, considering all the injuries to key players.

All in all, sloppy game. It sucks when you have to ice the farm team but its nice to see the young guys play.

Here's to both teams getting healthy and looking forward to next game.

This I can agree with. I have no qualms admitting the Sens lost and deserved to lose. What irks me is anyone telling me that the Leafs were so much better out there tonight. They won because Scrivens played great and no one on our team can snipe a goal.

Just admit your goalie bailed your team out tonight and move on. A fully healthy Senators team will still beat a fully healthy Leafs team on a night like tonight. Your team was outworked yet pulled out a victory. Go back to your board and puff out your chest there Mustang Sally.
There's more to "skill" than scoring goals. As you already admitted our backup outplayed anderson. The leafs PK was pretty impressive. The leafs had the better scoring chances. The Sen's tryed harder but it wasn't enough with the team you are icing now.

I don't know why you're getting ******** just stating the facts... I would love to see a 5th playoff series with a fully healthy Sens and Leafs. Maybe if the leafs can break the curse and your GM does something that keeps your team respectful until spezza and karlsson come back it could happen. Althought I wouldn't bet your life savings on a sens victory

Yeah I like him. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets resigned/wouldn't mind from what ive seen so far.

Next year

Cowen - Karlsson
Methot - ?????
Phillips - Lundin

And some of the players up now. Doubt Ceci makes it.

Moore is the only one who improves us.

The others... well... if we feel like we want to send a guy back to the AHL, then a guy like Langkow isn't going to hurt you. Not much upside there, however.

Aside from Moore, all the rest of those guys are bandaids to see us through the rest of the year if our injuries don't let up. For example, please see:
Svatos, Marek.

Although if you ask me, I think Murray needs to be ALL UP on the college UFA signings. NCAA season is going to wrap up sooner than later... Dan DeKeyser and Ryan Walters might pick the Sens if they knew they'd get some real NHL games before the season was over (in the same way DaCosta did when he signed with us)

We should have a couple more players for next game but our big guns won't be back until next year.

So Scrivens outplayed Anderson but the Leafs had the better scoring chances?

That in itself makes no sense. Scrivens was tested more often than Anderson and made many difficult saves to keep the score the way it was. The team also blew a three-on-one and hit the post.

The Senators had the better scoring chances. Period.

I love Spezza and as a Jets season ticket holder, I am well aware of how crazy his game can be... remember what he did to us last year? Anyway, everyone loves Spezza. He needs no love... My boy Da Costa is the new kid. He has been put down in the past. "Nothing but AHL career fodder or if he fails, he goes to Europe" is what they said. Seeing his skillset and the way he sees things on the ice that not many of the better NHLers see, makes me believe this kid is going to be an NHLer for a very long time. It's always more fun to root for the Rudy types. Undrafted kid from a place like France... Hollywood story writing itself here folks. hehe

I'm pleasantly surprised to see the lack of mass hysteria. Are we in full acceptance mode now that the grief and anger has passed?

I don't get why Leafs fans are even trying to compare injuries here.

The Sens are missing their #1 Center, #1 Left Winger, #1 D (and probably the best defenseman in the game), and #2 D. Not to mention Latendresse and Regin. The Leafs would also have to be missing AT LEAST Kessel and Phaneuf for there to even be a comparison.

More like full on depression mode. You know, when you are so depressed that you don't care anymore?

We barely made the playoffs last year with Spezza, Karlsson and Michalek having all-star years. Pretty sure that no one is expecting anything out of this season at this point.

Yeah, I'm now looking at this season as an extended tryout/ scouting report for the 2013-14 squad.

Andy still played solid.
DaCosta only player on the team atm that can make chances.
We blew a 3 on 1.
We had better chances
Leafs won off a 2 deflections + empty net.
Young guns weren't that bad, we were outshooting Toronto at one time.
Methot a monster still.
Gryba messed up a little bit
Smith nailed Kessel
Turris and Alfie looked average, both were really trying to "lead" the team. (Alfie more than usual)
Zibby + Silfy looked one dimensional. Zibby looked slow skating.
I didnt even know Greening was inthis game.
JOB had some presence.

Da Costa outshone our other players, he's the real deal! Ziba was invisible, and needs to sit next game (with the schedule being what it is, we need to rotate our forwards anyway). Silf might be next, but I'd just limit his ice time for now. Assuming Michalek and Regin are back Monday:

Greening-Turris-Michalek
Regin-DaCosta-Alfie
Condra-Smith-Neil
Daug-JOB-Silfverberg
(Zib, Grant)

That's not too too awful.
