Whoever advocated Kovalev with the Cats obviously didn't watch him in the K. He was as bad as you can imagine.
Pit-Mtl... why don't we just test opponents goalies more?
Cancer with 3 primary assists. Keep on watching Brower's goal totals...
Because he would be just as productive if had remained with the Caps. No one ever doubted the guys talent. The best thing that happened to him was to leave the Caps and the shadows of Ovechkin. Not having the support network that served as an enabler for him here in Washington has benefitted Semin.
One thing I think we all can agree on though, is that no one is bemoaning the Caps not resigning Vokoun.

I think it is a lot less complex than that and as simple as finally actually being used as a first line guy with a top centerman. As long as he was in DC Ovechkin was going to be that guy so Semin was forced to make do with whatever talent and ice time was left over. Like it or not it is very difficult to produce like a 1st line guy when you are playing with 2nd and 3rd line talent and getting 2nd line ice time.
Ward isn't a huge loss for the Canes given his overall play this year, and Ellis has outperformed him when called upon. What will kill them is if Ellis can't handle the work load now and they have to rely on Peters.
