How exactly is Grabner >>> Kadri?

Frattin >/= Bailey
JVR > Grabner/Okposo
Kadri = Grabner/Okposo

Refer to previous response, and why is it a question that Grabner is better than Kadri?

Last year the older Isles trio received much more ice time than the Leafs' trio, and was slightly more productive, but significantly less physical.

This year - still with significantly less minutes - the younger Leafs trio is crushing the Isles' trio in production, and continuing their significant edge in physical play.

Hard not to see Kadri and JVR as the only 2 of the 6 players here with true topline potential anymore, as well.

Not sure why anyone would choose the Isles' trio, to be honest.
you are gonna talk hits and blocked shots but not take aways and give aways?

I overdid it with the 3 ">"s but its atleast two.
Try a 25 year old Hobey Baker finalist and a player that scored 18 goals in 23 games in the AHL last year, and 10 goals in 13 games in the AHL playoffs taking our team to the calder cup finals as our main offensive weapon is now off to the same type of start in the NHL this year. Other than Cory Conacher, Frattin was the most dangerous player in those playoffs, so despite your skepticism against a two way forward that is decent and consistent, Frattin bring a whole lot more to the table.

But maybe you're right, the kid's rookie season should be more of an indicator of what he can do Saying Bailey better than Frattin by a landslide is laughable.

I never said it was by a landslide, someone said it was Frattin by a landslide, I was being sarcastic.

I say it's close between those two, but I'd take Bailey as it stands right now.

So many statements simply using ">" as the entire argument, but with very little actual discussion about why those players are better than their counterparts.

Also, I think Bailey's being short-changed in this thread. I still think he's got the potential to be a solid top six player. He's a good playmaker, solid with the puck, and adds a nice defensive/PK game as well. Consistency is his biggest issue.

Even as an Isles fan, I'd take the Leafs trio. Grabner is a great weapon, and Bailey is a well-rounded forward who still has potential to get better, but I truly believe that Okposo is damaged goods. He's playing awful hockey, and I don't see him turning it around without a change of scenery. That gives the Leafs guys the edge IMO.

I can understand the argument for the Leafs trio, but how is JVR more valuable than Grabner? Grabner is one of the best PKers in the league, can score 30+ goals, and is the fastest player in the NHL (which teams have to respect)

And I say this as a fan of JVR's

Because JVR is just a better player with a much higher Ceiling than Grabner.... And I don't think Grabner is the fastest guy in the league, that's Harry Z.

He had a great season, and people look at that. Personally, I think he's pretty much like Kulemin in that regard. The 30 goal season was an abberation.
