I personally am not a big fan of Lapierre as a shutdown centre...I'd like to hear some proposals for a 3C to Vancouver. No interest in undersized centres please, we already have Schroder...

Isn't he scratched lately in New York? And he's going to have better chemistry with Hansen and Raymond than what we've seen with Schroeder? He'd be the 4th line center and probably wouldn't be that much of an upgrade over Lapierre. At least not enough to spend the assets to acquire him to find out.
Also I see Kesler's line as a good 2 way line but for Keslers long term health he cant play all our toughest minutes. Also I don't see Schroder as a long term piece on the team going forward unless Henrik and Daniel decide to retire he will be in a position like Cody Hodgson was (just with a Dad that doesn't PMS)

Not many of us want a #3C and are content with our team as it is. Booth would be the most expendable, but if you see the fans not wanting to give up anything it's because we don't have a desprate need

No 3 rd line centre is worth any of the untouchable players you mentioned. Honestly with how the markets been this year a 2 nd round pick could get us a solid 3 rd line centre.
That's the market for big shutdown centermen. (Gaustad, Zubrus).
The Rangers paid a 2nd for an unproven AHL player in Boyle and he's only improved leaps and bound since. There will be an arms race to get his services around the league.

Would also not give up a first for a bottom 6 player.

and you have 2 guys battling for your number 4 center
IF you are saying Schroeder is not ready for the nhl then what do you want for him? a 2009 first round pick should be ready for the NHL unless they are a goalie or D-man
Philippe Paradis is the only first rounder that has played no games in the NHL so far from that draft.
The canucks would be silly to trade for another C and move Schroeder back to the farm. Vancouver needs to start bringing in some of their prospects to see what they have. The canucks only have 4 players under the age of 25 on the roster right now. I realize they are in a win now mode, but they need to start working more with their prospects to be ready when the older guys start breaking down. The Sedins turn 33 later in this yea, Burrows and Bieska about to turn 32 and Luongo 34 in two months.
Nucks needs to look within their system before bringing in anyone else. I know some Canuck fans are waiting for the return on the Luongo trade, but no one knows what will come back for him--whether it will be high or low and the team has some interesting prospects that need to get a sniff in the NHL

agree and I truly believe that Schroder's play has earned him the #3C position. He is playing extremely well (even if he's not putting up a ton of points) and has received high praise from both AV and GMMG
