WOW!, just WOW! - agree on both A) and B). Going to give a friend a ring to let him know the info - so he can throw his Tropp Sabres jersey in the car. He attending the game tonight and may want to wear if this info becomes a reality. Heads-up - game on TWCSC in both Buffalo and Rochester - will be flipping back and both between that and Niagara-North Dakota which is on ESPNU. (that one starts at 5:30 pm ER while Amerks starts at 7:00 pm ET.) Go Amerks! Go Purple Eagles! and be safe Corey!

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - As @DropThePuckWHTK said, RW Corey Tropp returns to the #Amerks lineup tonight. Just 4 1/2 months after surgery to repair ACL.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - On Tuesday #Amerks Corey Tropp said that although he was cleared for contact, wasn't quite ready to play. Apparently had a very good 3 days.

I just hope the Amerks aren't rushing him back in desperation, based on their lineup and lack of help from Darcy.

Man, I hope this doesn't bite them in the ass. I have images of Jan Ludvig and Donald Audette running through my mind -- or more aptly, limping on crutches through my mind.

Evan Rankin also back tonight. A nice boost for the Amerks here.

I hope Tropper is 100% and is not being rushed back into action...

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - Also back in the #Amerks lineup: RW Evan Rankin, out since Feb. 2 with fracture in lower leg.

This was from yesterday but seems Rissmiller may get a chance to play - hasn't play much due to the "5 Vet Only Game" rule.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - However, not all is good news on #Amerks injury front: C Cody McCormick did not skate due to lower-body ailment from shot block Wednesday.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - The #Amerks hope/belief is that injury to C Cody McCormick isn't serious. He was walking (in some pain) so appears day-to-day.

I highly doubt they rushed him back, would suck to see him re-injure it though.

Awesome that Tropper is back in action! Amazing how much faster he recovered than was initially expected. Hopefully he's 100%.

The Buffalo Sabres are set to announce the signing of centerman Tim Schaller to an two-year entry-level contract. A native of Merrimack, NH, Schaller (6'2", 210 lbs.) recently completed his senior season at Providence College, scoring eight goals and 23 points in 37 games en route to being named Hockey East's Best Defensive Forward. Schaller, 22, will report to the Rochester Americans of the AHL on an amateur tryout (ATO), with the meter starting to run on his deal in the 2013-14 season.
Hopefully he's solid at the faceoff dot.

Tropper with his first point back five minutes in with an assist to McCormick who stashes it home.

Jacobs with a couple nice chances a few minutes later, too.

Tropp looked good in the first period...especially for a guy coming off major knee surgery. He didn't seem too rusty and had decent speed. He also laid out a few nice hits along the boards and had his usual bit of edge. Throw in an assist and a strong scoring chance during a 4-on-4....and I'd say it was a promising 20 minutes.

Good to hear him doing well, Tropper is underrated among Sabre fans IMO.

Before the injury and lockout, I think he was a lock for the Sabres bottom-six. I still love him beating the snot out of Rinaldo.

Tropp looks good, but the Amerks are playing almost as bad as they did Wednesday. Almost hard to believe.

I'm shocked and surprised the kid is back. Hope he picks right back up where he was to start the season and keeps himself in one piece at the same time.

He's not the same, but even not being 100%, he's been their best forward. That's how bad they are right now.

They're getting outshot like crazy again. They're just slow...but hopefully Tropp and Rankin being back will help improve that.

How so?

Most fans had penciled him into the lineup on a line with Hodgson/Vanek before his injury. After the injury he was sort of out of sight out of mind for many.

2-1 Marlies. Only a matter of time. Amerks have been out of their league for 2 games now.

Amerks lose 4-1 (two EN). They have some offensive talent and a lot of character, but they're way behind in the speed department when they're relying on subpar skaters like Adam, Tarnasky, Mancari, Ellis, and McCormick. Tropp and Rankin returning should help, but they'll be served well by the eventual influx of young, quick-legged junior players and/or a couple of waiver-exempt NHLers. Not too worried. They're going to be overloaded with talent and speed by the playoffs, and chemistry will be the only issue as the lineup changes.

I get on the Amerks fans from time to time over their griping over personnel but it must be maddening to not really have a set team all season. Between losing your best players to call ups and inevitable injuries, a team can be transformed quite a bit during a season.

29 shots on goal in 2 home games. Words can't explain how pathetic that is.
