Maybe the best place for Dumba would be in the SEL next year. Playing for Brodin's old coach.

Actually, maybe Dumba could move in with Brodin. They could be hockey's version of The Odd Couple and have their own reality show. Brodin would be Felix and Dumba would be Oscar.

This. Besides, Färjestad's head coach was fired halfway through last season.

can the Wild sing Golpher's prospect Nate Schmidt? He's a native Minnesota and play on university here. Any chance to see him in wild jersey?

Sounds like he'll probably sign elsewhere because there are too many good defensemen ahead of him. Don't see the Wild giving him any ice time this year because we're in the playoff hunt and he would have to battle Falk, Prosser, Stoner, Scandella, and Dumba next year for a bottom spot.

Plus the whole he doesn't want the pressure of playing at home which is sad. I'd take him over falk any day of the week tho

He had more ofensive talent than Falk, Prosser, Stoner and Scandella. Could be a great second pairing defensman.

Not sure, where I should ask this, so I hope this is the right place.

Any chance, that Minnesota will not/ can't sign Clutterbuck and/or Spurgeon to new contracts this offseason? Would love them in a Bolts sweater, especially Clutterbuck, because we could need a though 3rd liner badly.

0% chance, Cal is a RFA so a trade is likely, Spurgie isn't going to get a whole lot of money. Now if you want to offer a trade I think they could both be had.

Well I thought about a trade, but what I mean is, do you want to sign Cal or will you trade him at draft day for a later pick becuase you don't have the money, no need,...
Something similar to the Pouliot from Boston to Tampa for a 5th.

What is more likely?

I wouldn't say a trade is likely at all. Possible is probably the word I'd use.

I think Spurgeon is likely to get signed long term and/or at a price I think many here will be slightly up in arms about. Whatever you think of him, it's pretty clear Yeo thinks a lot of the kid and uses him often in many high leverage situations. I don't see any way he's not on roster next year.

As for Clutterbuck, in the end I do believe he'll be retained. Only way he's moved, IMO, is in a package for a markedly better player. I do think this team likes what he brings to this organization, not just on the ice but off.

Wild have a lot of salary coming off this summer, won't be an issue to keep them. Reliable players.

Clutterbuck is a bad role model, have you seen his tempstar commercial? He's a head hunter, that hit is both illegal, it targets the head, the guy is vulnerable, and its a blind side hit.

I think Clutterbuck is being retained pending some guys like Bulmer/Bus and how they develop. I see him being used in a trade in the next two years even as early as the draft.

Do you think its possible to acquire David Clarkson from NJD? Or trade PMB or Heater everywhere. I think Zucker can play 2LW on PMB position.

I don't see Clutterbuck being traded.

He's a great pest that plays on the edge. I also believe he's one of the best in the NHL at that role. He doesn't score a lot, but that's not his game. Everyone hates playing against him and I think that's just what the team needs.

Clutterbuck better be traded this summer. There is no reason having him on the ice, great locker room guy, but I could care less about that. His role is expendable and overrated. An elite checking winger does nothing for me, especially when he hits the glass on each of his shots. While he still has some value, I would like to see him packaged for a higher draft pick or something. Move our 1st pick this year (call it the 30th pick this year ) or second round and move up 10-15 spots. While I am still dreaming, move up in the top 15 to get someone like Ryan Pulock or Rasmus Ristolainen.

Spurg, will get a deal this summer to stay long term in MN. He is scoring on the PP, they will keep him. Hopefully he turn into a bottom pairing guy for us in the next few years but for the mean time, he does have high value to this club, for a low contract price.

I doubt anyone can get Clarkson from the Devils... and PMB isn't going anywhere right now is my guess, ever since he came back and started scoring. He won't get re-signed this summer but will be able to walk away and get more money in a new deal elsewhere if he continues to show his abilities.

Heater is here till the end (next year) is my guess. He might get burried on the 4th line or sent to Houston or something, but I doubt he can be traded. more likely picked up off of waivers.

Zucker will get his chance, next year unless injuries happen in the next month.

They ought to trade CC right now, somebody may want his "grit" going into the playoffs. Get rid of him before its found out how poor his overall game is. If they give Spurgeon a sizeable raise, and sign him long term, one would have to question Fletcher's sanity. I understand the PP aspect, but Dumba can fill that role. The Wild don't need to waste money on a PP specialist.

I think we could use his grit going into the playoffs. I used to be down on Clutterbuck as well...but I see value in his game as a 3rd line checker.

As far as Spurgeon, I'm OK with re-signing him to a sensible contract. He's a decent RH 2nd / 3rd pairing guy who has a scoring touch.

Clutter have been like a season flower

He starts hard but fades away around new year because the style he plays is so demanding

With a regular long season he's been banged up when the qualities he poses would be most needed towards the last 1/3 off the regular season

If clutter would get a legit GOOD defender then trade him if
not then keep the guy as him rupper and konopka give wild team a nice bitter taste in the opposite teams locker room

Cal is playing smarter hockey than he has in previous seasons, but I'm still not sold on him as some player we need to resign. He plays out of position just to get a damn hit. He takes stupid ass shots when he has Brodziak or Heatley on an odd man rush. And his "agitation to draw penalties" isn't really working like it used to either.

Do we resign him? I'm sure we will. He has intangibles that I'm sure Yeo and Fletcher both enjoy having in a player. And he never complains about what his role is supposed to be.

4 Years ago, I would have said we resign him without even batting an eye at it. He was scoring goals. Making big plays on the PP and PK and overall was one of the more electric players to have on the ice. Now....it isn't nearly the necessity or the hastiness of needing to get him resigned before he refuses or demands to leave.

I like Clutterbuck's energy and physical play. But he's kind of cut back on his hitting. Used to be among the top hit leaders and this year he's even close. Would be nice if the whole team would be a little more physical. I wouldn't be against trading Clutterbuck. But if we do we'll be losing our most physical player on a team that is already not very physical.

I know it wont happen and is probably crazy, but I would love to see Gaborik back with the Wild. I also love Heatly but a Goborik for Heatly deal would be awesome imo.
