I am guessing you don't mean player for player straight up.

I would welcome Gabby back as well, I just don't think it could be done. It would have to be those two players because of salary and then we would need to throw in Larsson or something / 2nd round picks. I would do it in a heart beat but I doubt NYR wants Heater for this season and next

I'm not sold. Everything about Clutter off the ice I love, on the ice, next to worthless for 'must keep' 3rd liner. Seeing as Clutter will get a raise, I doubt we have the money for him figuring Fletcher will want to keep some $$$ to sign some of these young guns in a few years.

I think it's Seto or Clutter because we need to roster space for others. Seto wins 100 times over.

I would love it too. I heard he was going to be playing on the 4th line today.

What it would cost to acquire Okposo and Stafford to Minnesota?

Speaking of underperforming Rangers, Brad Richards could maybe be had as long as salary is going back. I'd be all for him if Cullen wasn't flying right now.

I wouldn't mind seeing the wild go after one of these guys

Andrej Sekera, Dimitry Kulikov, Eric Brewer or Matt Carle

Why would we add to underachievers to our roster?

Okposo has been playing pretty well but i don't think the Islanders have any interest in letting him go, no matter what Eklund says.

For future and maybe add some little gritt too for playoffs.

I really liked Bouchards game against Los Angeles but i can see that if we add guys like Stafford and Okposo we can play better in playoffs. It is hard decicion to trade now when team is winning. But i would try to use Heatley and Bouchard for those. I think Islies would like Heatley cause thay have insidecap and Heatley have 7.5million cap hit but doesnt get that high payroll. If that isnt enough maybe add some minor prospect or late pick. For Stafford Bouchard plus something. That is hard to say what they need because they are like rebuild or something and Bouchard is UFA. Maybe Bouchard+3rd+4th. 3rd is conditional if they dont resign him.

way too much money for a guaranteed under performing 3rd line. I like seeing Clutterbuck removed from our 3rd line pairing but not at this expense.

I am fine with getting Okposo as long as he doesn't plan on getting a raise but, I don't see the point trading for guys who's stats seem like they can be filled in nicely with the current crops of talent we have in Houston (we just have to let them season)

I honestly feel as if Fletcher were to make a deal, it would be for a 1st line pairing winger (not a market for, but I would go grab Jagr as he shouldn't be too expensive) or someone who can fill in our defense a bit better. I am still scared with the thought of someone like Suter or Brodin getting injured and all we have is Prosser.

I would like to see Clutterbuck moved, or at least moved to the 4th line and Mitchell moved up.

Clutterbuck is really bad in the offensive zone with Heatley and Brodziak. He just skates down the boards and takes a bad-angle shot every shift.

I think saw his name pop up here before.

But David Clarkson is a UFA this summer.. I dont think he'd be a bad signing for the right price.

With Zach, Mikko, & Clarkson .. That'd be a pretty nice 1st line.

I know Coyle has been serviceable, but idk. I think Clarkson would work well with Zach since theyve played together before in Jersey.

just throwing that out there

Clarkson is going to be looking for a big deal with term on it not a 1-2 year deal. If we give him a deal we're basically saying that our prospects aren't good enough yet. Coyle has been more then good enough he's young and complements that line so well he's getting better and better and you can see the player he's molding into.

Sure if he's a UFA and we offer him a deal its great, I just don't see us making a presentation to him that would tickle his fancy

I wouldn't be against the idea of switching Mitchell and Clutterbuck....

since detroit loves vets so heatley for valtteri filppula. filppula is awesome center. put granlund as winger with him and add 1 sniper with them ;d or we could use filppula as a winger with koivu & parise. koivu & filppula had some sexy chemistry last year WC 8) it seems like detroit & filppula are having trouble negotiating new contract so trade is incoming!

To add more salary and worse player, while making other team significantly better. How do you not see it? Though I wouldn't want Filppula. No more finns if we want to get that cup someday.

Clarkson will get a ridiculous salary..he's a great player and perfect for that line as you said but will be hugely overpaid IMO.
