They got killed, 174 PIMs...

Good and fun game to watch, got some scouting reports on 3 rockets (Bowey, Bell and Lees) if you guys are interested.

As well as Chartier and Baillie.

Rockets were dominating, the Royals were getting pissed off and were hitting anything that moves, many game ejections.

With the 87th pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, the Pittsburgh Penguins select, from Dubuque of the USHL, defenseman Michael Downing!

Pens draft so far:

Round 1 (28)- RW Valentin Zykov
Round 2 (57)- RW Michael McCarron
Round 3 (87)- D Michael Downing

Progress Report: I was hoping to grab an offensive threat in the first, and I think I did just that. Zykov has good size, a good shot, and can get around the ice pretty well. I dont think he will ever be a 40 goal scorer, but I think that he will be in the 25-30 range with 60-70 points next to Crosby or Malkin. In the second, I grabbed another budding power forward, emphasis here on the power. His offensive upside is probably 20-25 goals and 45-55 points, but his true value is his physical play and his ability to provide some protection for the Pens offensive stars while being able to play the 3rd wheel on their lines. In the 3rd, I selected Downing, who I had ranked as a late 2nd/early 3rd talent. Even though the Pens are pretty stacked on D, I felt that I could not pass him up here. Luckily, he is going the college route, thus we have some time before having to figure out where he fits in.

As for regrets- I dont really have any so far. I hoping that Erne, Mantha or Domi would drop to 28, but I had figured that it was a long shot. Zykov was in my second tier of targets (along with Hartman and Duclair), so I am still very happy.
