I like this thread. I somehow didn't see it until you guys bumped it now.

I still don't know why the Indianhead's face is so dark on the banners. I guess the logo must have been way darker in the past?

2 Christmas's ago we were printing the Blackhawks' Christmas card at my work. I actually stopped the presses for a brief time to see if the color had been screwed up on the Indianhead - which was on the banner in the rafters. I found photos online of the banner raising and the dark brown face, and was like ok... print it. Now every time I see a banner I think of that....sigh.

Agreed, the indianhead seems to spend a lot of time at the beach during the summer.

Yeah, I've never understood why they are so dark.

St. Louis plays Minnesota tomorrow night. If they get one point, we clinch the division with a win Friday. If they lose in regulation, we clinch by getting one point at minimum.

President's trophy would be a nice coup for this corps. Of course another Cup takes precedence.

It's a major accomplishment for sure, but Cup or BUST!

I've been wanting the #1 overall seed since around the end of the streak and have been arguing with a friend about seeding for a while now. Yes, we are a good team on the road. But, I personally think this team will have learned from how they played at home last postseason and will play extra hard for the home crowd. I'd like home ice throughout the playoffs.

Prez number should be coming down 2. Ducks down 3 in Colorado mid 3rd.

That playoff bracket bothers me because the East is on the left side, it should be on the right side damnit!

Nine games left but Id say its pretty much a done deal the Hawks will get the #1 seed and the PT. Best regular season record for the Blackhawks ever.

The President's Trophy shouldn't be banner-worthy IMO. A division banner is enough to commemorate a great regular season. Anytime I see the Hawks 1990-91 President's Trophy banner all I can think of is bitterness that they lost in the Playoffs right away.

Still have a shot to overtake the 77 Habs for best point percentage ever. They're at .820 now, need to get to .826.

That would be something. 76-77 Habs coached by Scotty Bowman. 80 game season 60-8-12.

To me #1 overall is more worthy of recognition than #1 against 4-7 other teams.

that's true. In the end, both doesn't really matter when you won't win the Cup

Here's a chart of all Western Conference Magic Numbers. "***" means guaranteed to finish above a team. Magic numbers are for teams in left column to finish higher in standings than teams in top row.

eh.... I'm indifferent to the Presidents' Trophy. Sure, home ice advantage is nice and all, but a Presidents' Trophy banner has to be the most bittersweet thing in existence if you don't also win the Cup.

If we win it, yay, Lincoln avatar time, baby. But whoop-de-doo in the long run.
