How will all the injuries affect Lehner

I haven't watched any Bingo games since the lockout, but even before the lockout he was facing a lot of shots. I imagine now that he is playing with half an ECHL team he is facing not only more shots, but tougher shots. I can't see how this can be good for his confidence. Seems to me it would be better to call him up, and let him back up Andy. That way he is practising with better players, and will get ~5 NHL games.

That's ridiculous, we have a backup goalie Bishop & until they trade him Lehner stays in Bingo. I hope Lehner takes it as a tremendous challenge & plays even better & he has the tools to take his game to another level.

Exactly. And if Lehner starts to lose more games and not post quite as lofty sv pct numbers and GAA I don't think the Senators or the fans or the rest of the league will think Lehner is any worse for it. If they play .500 hockey with a lot of ECHL players then that is a huge success for Lehner. I doubt they will fall out of the playoffs... they were in first place not long ago. Then if Ottawa does not make the playoffs, maybe Lehner can go on a huge run to a Calder Cup again with NHL seasoned Wiercioch, Benoit, Borowiecki, Gryba, Zibanejad, Da Costa, Silfverberg etc.

Why exactly is this a time for Lehner to lose confidence?

Well people around here were going on endlessly about how he's surpassed the AHL and has nothing left to gain. So I consider it as upping the difficulty a touch.

Besides, last year was a pretty ****** year for Lehner and Bingo in general, and he's clearly passed that.

Lehner in Ottawa = AHL defence facing NHL competition.
Lehner in Binghamton = ECHL defence facing AHL competition.

No difference.

Time to show what he's made of.

How will all the injuries affect Craig Anderson? He basically has an AHL team in front of him. He knows he has to step up because this is when the team needs him the most. Robin needs to step up to the challenge too.

If this ruins his confidence well, he's obviously not as tough as first thought...

Confidence is never ever going to be the issue with Lehner. He'll face tougher situations and get to play even more. The only negative impact I foresee this having on Lehner is in stupid narratives as his numbers will drop and people will try to find reasons other than the obvious reason of losing the 10 best players from the start of the year.

Bingo has a good system, a good coach, a good goalie & the rest of the new players will soon get comfortable in their new digs & start contributing, Caporusso got his first AHL goal today. There is no need to panice but continue to play their system, play a good transition & get to the net & pick up the garbage goals. They do need to cut down on the gshots on goal though. Schneider looks like he could be a pretty good player to me, good size, good skating & a good shot.
