no kidding, but these Swedes will get better and better with age.

Duchene hasn't reached his potential yet but I still have Hedman's potential higher

Hedman went 2nd overall, behind Tavares. Unless you're referring to people saying Hedman should have gone 1st, in which case I disagree. So far, it's Tavares and then everyone else from that draft class.

He and Kane fight for my #5 spot. I'd probably take Kane if it weren't for his "personality".

Yes I was.... There were a few "notable" analysts *cough Button* that preferred Duchene over JT too, not to mention a very vocal part of hfboards

Oh, I know. I wasn't on HF back then, but Duchene was growing on me as that year went on and I might have taken him over Tavares too. Obviously, since then, Tavares has just gotten better and better and it's not as if Hedman and Duchene have stalled, per se, as much as Tavares has taken off.

Not sure how anyone can take OEL over Duchene at this point...

I mean OEL has been fantastic, but Duchene this year has been better, and was better the first 2 years.

I think ROR would probably fall in the 7-10 range, just goes to show how valuable he truly is.

What a good draft for the Avs. Duchene, ROR, Barrie, and Elliott. Barrie and Elliott look like safe bets to be good players in the NHL(Barrie has 3 pts in 6 games for the Avs).

Duchene really breaking out this year. Has become a force at both ends of the ice. Can't believe O'Reilly is holding out because he feels "slighted" that the Avs offered him the same bridge deal as Duchene.

To be fair, Duchene took a sweetheart deal

Yeah, even after Duchene's off-year he was worth more than 3.5M per. That's simply a steal of a contract.. you can't expect every player to sign those kinds of deals, especially one's coming off good years.

Why is Kassian tied with Tavares? As if to say they're interchangable? It's:

Schroeder

Kassian

Tavares

C'mon now.

Wait, wtf? Why would O'Reilly be drafted ahead of Kane?

Centre, great two-way play and it's not like there's much of a gap between the two offensively.

Could go either way.

Fantasy hockey aside, Ryan O'Reilly is the kind of player that helps teams win cups. He spent his first two years developing his elite defensive play and last year, feeling comfortable in that aspect of the game, he let his offense start to develop.

ROR's upside is a very good 2nd line centre. Not someone you take 2nd overall.

That's his downside, not upside. You may not see it yet, but you will.

That's how I see him too. A fringe 1st line centre, who's the perfect 2nd line centre on a strong team.
