Patrick Roy- Hab or Av (Redone)

I'm redoing a poll I did on Patrick Roy which was about if people associate him more with the Habs or Avs. The first one many people said they chose the Avs because they weren't old enough to see him as a Hab so it sort of skewed the results. In this poll I will have 2 options for the Avs, for those who were old enough to see him as a Hab and those who weren't.

Which team comes to mind more when you picture Roy, the Habs or Avs? I fall into the category of those too young to see him as a Hab, therefore obviously the Avs.

Canadiens for me. Patrick Roy was the Montreal Canadiens during his tenure. He was a part of Colorado. Sakic was the face of the franchise. Also old enough to have seen him play.

I think of Roy as an Av, but I was born in '91 so what else could I think of him as?

I remember seeing him as a Hab, but I wasn't even 2 yet when they won the 2nd Cup, and then came the 9 goal episode and then 2 Cups with Colorado. I missed the real glory years and from that perspective of remembering the downfall against the Wings first and foremost his Habs career seemed rather bleak.

Av, too young to see him as a Hab. I was 7 when he was traded.

As a Detroit fan it's hard not to imagine him as an Av.

With that being said, as Detroit fan I'll also never ever forget watching the game that ultimately led him to Colorado lol.

9-2 in favor of the Habs for people old enough to see him play there.

Habs, that's where Casseau started and were it not for the utter incompetence of Houle and Tremblay, where he may have ended his career.

Started following hockey in 2002, so that's my answer decided.

I think of him as an Av, but just because of my age. He's also a traitor to the Montreal franchise; I do not want him associated with the Canadiens in any way shape or form now.

I actually started watching hockey when he was still a Hab, but didn't really get into it until after he had joined the avs, and then I started following them to watch Roy play and he cemented himself and the avs as my favorite player and team. So Avs for me, even though how amazing he was for the Habs is why when I started watching hockey intently I followed the Avs.

Yeah 20 year old that were 4 year old when Roy quitted for colorado.

For anyone Roy had about the same amount of success in both franchise and probably played about the same amount of games.

Also more recent in memory for everyone.

478 Regular season game for the avs + 133 in playoffs vs 551 + 114
so 611 vs 665.

Not that big of a difference.

Born in '91, see him as an Av, mostly because the biggest playoff series for the Wild was against him and the Avs, so that's pretty well ingrained in my memory.

Nice list, ok for individual success is not that close, competition in goaltender was much harder for Roy in the 90' for sure.

Had more 2 cups vs 2 cups in minds.

Old enough to remember him on the Habs, but I didn't really start following and watching hockey closely until my teenage years, so picture him on the Avs more. The number of divisional games for the Avs against the Canucks makes it more in their favour as well

Well, I remember him very well as a Hab, and associate him strongly as a Hab. But I saw him A LOT more as an Av, being an Oilers fan, including in the playoffs, so I picked Avs.

But in history, I'd say it has to be Habs, just for me personally it was more Avs.
