Zetterberg vs Either Sedin

If you had to choose between Zetterberg or either or the Sedin twins, which would you say has had the better career? Zetterberg has a Cup and a Conn Smythe but Henrik and Daniel have both led the league in scoring and came one win away from a championship.

Captain clutch of course, he is a ppg player with a lot of intangibles and one of the best two way player of his generation.

Up to this point? Probably Zetterberg. These guys all have at least 5 years left most likely.

Poll?

Kinda saw this poll coming. Reminds me of Kopitar vs. Henrik.

Still got a lot of playing time ahead of them but I'm inserting the homer pick for Zetterberg.

Should have waited until the offseason to make the poll.

Zetterberg.

I'll go ahead and add Gretzky's vote for Zetterberg also.

Zetts has had the better overall career so far and judging by this season looks to be aging better as well.

Maybe a mod can add a poll option?

Good start for Zett, points-wise.

However, can't help but notice. Zetterberg's +/- is well below that of the Sedins, even though getting off to a much better start, scoring-wise. is that just due to Jimmy Howard crapping the bed?

Well I haven't looked at it closely but Detroit is minus 3 in the GF/GA department and Vancouver is plus 9.

Alot of that has to do with injuries on the back end for Detroit and the state of goal tending between the 2 teams I would think.

I'm not sure about this year but the Sedins were getting 70% of their starts in the offensive zone has that carried over and how would it compare to Zetts?

I took a little closer look, it seems Zetterberg has been better on the PP. Detroit as a team have been horrid, but Zetterberg has points on 8 of their 10 PP goals. Vancouver's PP isn't much better, but the Sedins got off to a slow start and have been much better last couple weeks.

Also, Zetterberg has 0 points and a -6 in the last 2 games. In this early of the season just shows how 2 bad games can hurt a guy.

Even with the minus 6 he is at zero which isn't that bad given that he is playing the 2nd most minutes of any Red Wing (does any other forward do that?).

As to the poll question I doubt there are many that wouldn't take Zetts over either Sedin based on their careers or even on this one season.

The evidence lies more in the direction of Zetts on both counts.

Sedins.

They are still ridiculously under appreciated.

Voters in 09/10 and 10/11 chose otherwise.

I doubt many wouldn't take either Sedin based on the last full season or even the 3 that came before it.

Three of the league's best forwards, not to mention three of the league's classiest players. For their careers up to this point, you'd probably have to say the cup makes the better career so far. But they likely have a long time left in their careers so it's early to discuss this conclusively. With the 3 gold medals, the 2 scoring titles, the cup, the smythe, the hart, and the lindsay spread amongst the three of them, I have to think that these are three hall of famers in the future.

Well even if we only play the NHL game here Zetts beats both Sedins h2h in the 6 1st seasons he was in the league in each and every season from 03-09 and it looks like this season as well so far at least so that would be 6-3 going on 7-3 seasons h2h.

Yeah pretty much. And the Sedins are in HF's underappreciated books.

Okay but Zetterberg's career is still better. Triple gold club, Conn Smythe, better career numbers is better than one Olympic gold, scoring title and MVP award. Not that the latter is anything to sneeze at.

Luongo has been gold this year also. Canucks fans always get upset when people question the abilities of the twins. Sedins are great players but no way would I take either over Zetterberg. Z provides a great two way game. I dont know who is better. This is just my preferance but if someone said other I understand why.

Whether either of these are true or not, Zetterberg's still better.

Zetterberg also came within one win of winning a SECOND championship..... so not sure this should be listed as one of the Sedin's crowning achievement.

This is Zetterberg pretty easily.

Not to mention, the OP was comparing Z to EITHER Sedin, not both. Its amazing how often on HF the Sedins, who are TWO SEPERATE PLAYERS have their accolades compared to ONE player. Am I the only one who sees how asinine that is?
