The hardest part for me at least, is comprehending so enormously big.

At times, it makes you feel so small and insignificant.

Is there life out there? Sure, there's got to be. Is it similar? Depends on the definition of 'similar'. We, as a species, have evolved so gradually and meticulously that I would expect life outside of our planet and galaxy to be different in many ways.

The human race started as a single cell that slowly adapted to its world. Whatever life is out there will be nothing like us. Not in the slightest. Even if we find planets with life, there is just a minuscule chance they have the equivalent of humans.

Disagree. Without humanity all the **** that goes on would mean nothing.

A sentient, evolved lifeform gives the glory of our universe meaning.

We're just as insignificant as a grain of sand in the scheme of things. Many people don't like hearing that they're life practically means nothing in the big picture, but in some ways, it's very relieving.

Really like it! Wish I had taken the time during my senior year to actually put a quote in.

I'm going to have to agree with Bob's previous post here. If the universe is really infinite in size, then there are other life forms that are equally as 'great' as humans.

That's putting us at the center of the universe. Who says there's not some intergalactic council with a bunch of species evolved far beyond what humans are.
