Should've trade Grabo + MacArthur and got Clutterbuck + Ott in return (separate deals)

Komarov-Ott-Clutterbuck

That line would probably actually make us a lot better in a playoff series.

Three super-pests. We'd draw a lot of penalties.

I wouldn't trade franson for bouwmeester straight up if they had the same salary. Bouwmeester is brutal.

Nope. Got nothing against JB but he is not the kind of player we need. And I rather hang on to both Kulemin and Franson who are doing a good job currently.

Wouldn't call him brutal, good skater and passer, but is soft and has no physicality to fit in with the new identity of our D. And has a terrible cap hit.

I'd only be interested if we could toss in Komi, and Calgary throws in their first rounder this year

In a heart beat. Bouwmeester is still a fantastic player that can log big minutes. He would immediately be the 2nd best dman on the team. Kulemin is a middle-line winger, and Franson is a bottom pairing dman. It would be silly to not do this trade.

Phaneuf and Bouwmeester would be a fantastic shutdown pairing. Although it would depend on his price tag and if Calgary retained some of his cap hit. If we were to give anything significant up for him I would go nuts, since he isn't exactly a pressing need.

No space at this time to play a talented youngster in Gardiner, so trade for an older player with a much bigger cap hit, and take the spot from Jake? Makes plenty of sense.

What/WHo would you offer for a top 10 pick in 2013?

If the Leafs were to miss the playoffs, and miss out on a top 10 pick:

what would you offer for a place in the top 10?
to which team? (of course this is speculatory, but I think there's a general consensus of who will be down in the basement)
for which pick? for which prospect?
why?

Whatever we offer now, would hurt our current roster. That makes absolutely no sense since it appears the Leafs are attempting to make an impact in the playoffs.

Just does not make sense.

At the draft I would probably put anything on the table that isn't Phaneuf, Kessel, Gardiner, JVR, Kadri, Rielly.

We have Mike Kostka logging 20+ mins a night. We can afford to add Bouwmeester, trust me.

I don't think we'll see anyone trade a top 10 pick this season, it's just too good of a draft. Even if we're picking in the 11 - 20 range we sould still get a very good player.

Grabo > Dubinsky

Grabo at 5.5 < Dubinsky at 4.2

This has me thinking...

Less term as well, also Dubinsky can play the wing.
