NBA Trade Deadline Thread

Might as well keep all the rumours and news in one thread.

Two trades already:

No one knows what the Kings are doing. Robinson hasn't been too good but he's only 21 years old and still has the potential to be a very good player. They don't even give their 5th overall pick a full season?

This should be great for Robinson. He gets to go to a better team and gets to learn from Kevin McHale.

So the Kings let go of the remaining player from the Adelman era. (Francisco Garcia).

Way to give up on the #5 overall pick in just 8 months.

Clown organization from top to bottom.

I mean, not that I think Robinson's career will have kind of significance... but you have to do better than that when giving away the #5 pick after not even a year.

So, basically they're just giving the middle finger to their fans?

Come on, people. The Kings blew the 5th pick when they took Robinson instead of Lillard.

Robinson is very athletic, but can't shoot and has a low basketball IQ. Patterson is only 23 and looks like he will be the better of the two players. Honeycutt and Garcia are nothing significant, and neither are Douglas and Alrich. The trade comes down to Patterson for Robinson, and right now, Patterson looks more a sure thing than does Robinson.

This trade isn't as bad as some of you are tying to make it.

Just one less asset the Sonics will have to play with going forward.

Still a lot that has to be done before that is even a done deal. The minority owners plan to sue since they didn't have the first opportunity to buy the team and the Nba gave Kevin Johnson a date to come forward with an owner who can keep the team here.

Enough with the pot shots. You're looking real immature.

How I am I supposed to know calling Thomas Robinson an asset was one of your buttons?

Robinson was never going to be effective next to Cousins, Patterson can. (Robinson and Cousins both need to score from close to the basket, there isn't much space there, Patterson is more of a high post scorer.) While Asik can't be relied upon offensively, so Robinson may get a chance to shine with him.

Could actually be win win. But the deal definitely makes more sense for Houston.

Why is Petrie still being allowed to make trades. God I rue the day Jason Williams made me a kings fan.

As a die hard Rockets fan, I can say I f***ing *LOVE* this deal. Patterson has been solid, but doesn't compare really to Robinson, who is both taller and heavier and has a wayyy better upside.

He is a bit of a headcase, but he's got two of the best post players in NBA history to learn from in McHale and Olajuwon and instantly finds himself a starter on a playoff team.

This seems very much win//win for both Thomas and the Rockets, especially when all it cost outside of 2-Pat was spare parts. Which are offset slightly by Garcia.

Personally, I'd have liked to have held on to Aldrich, but business is business.

Robinson will fit in well with Houston and Patterson is an underachiever with a lot of talent

low risk-high reward deal for both teams

Definitely will be traded, I believe. Atlanta doesn't seem to keen on giving him his max deal that he seeks. If I had to take a guess to where he'll land, I'll say Brooklyn, but they need to up the ante on the Humphries + Brooks rumor that's around and about. They will have to include at least a first. They can definitely get outbid, but they seem to have one of the higher interest levels in Smith.

As for the trade deadline as a whole, I'm interested in seeing what comes of Paul Millsap, Eric Bledsoe, and J.J Reddick. I don't feel as if the Clippers NEED to make a move, but the return for Bledsoe would be rather interesting. Reddick would be a nice addition to say the Pacers or Bulls. Should be an interesting deadline at the very least.

Hoping the Rockets aren't done. Still room for improvement. I'd love Redick, tho not keen on him apparently asking for 10m a season.

Phoenix traded Sebastian Telfair to Toronto for Hamed Haddadi and a 2nd.

Boston is likely to acquire Jordan Crawford from the Wizards. Fab Melo reportedly NOT involved.
