This defense is something else. Scary.
Mike Green has turned into a fairly decent defenseman. Also, I've loved his offensive play this season. The boy can throw a mean check and I appreciate that.

Backstrom's line is invisible so far. They should help defense keeping puck more / pressuring in Rangers zone.

Kids skating on Trump rink at Central Park looks like fun. Apparently it's cold in New York.

That but the Rangers also seem to have a decided overall speed advantage.

They're getting pretty well schooled in the D & neutral zones, which maybe wouldn't be so bad if the forecheck was better.

Referees are awful tonight. Chimera's and especially Brouwer's hits were clean, while Backstrom gets away with a blatant trip right in front of the referee.

Wow. 20 shots on goal by the Rangers. Insane.

Looks like a defense with four different bottom-pairing defensemen in the lineup.

They felt bad for the call on Chimera. Plus, he was going for the pick and the guy stepped on his stick. I also thought that the penalty that Backstrom drew was a bit weak.

The penalty on Chimera was definitely a dive. The guy clutched his face like it was covered in battery acid. Great acting job. I'll give it 3 1/2 Marchands.

You mean 3 1/2 Callahans?

I don't like how Holtby comes out of the net... that was a really risky play that the Rangers should have scored on.

Ugh. Erskine has looked brutal. Maybe one of the trainers needs to check his skates?

I agree, but then they called a ridiculous penalty on Brouwer.

I thought there were only 20 seconds left in the Rangers PP.

Fehr has always had such a weird knack for disrupting the other team's breakouts.

Strange play, Hendricks is looking at the puck but Powe is looking dead at him and makes no attempt to get out of the way. Guess in slow-mo it looks like he had time he might not have actually had.

"Holtby is playing the net that at least 9 feet wide" - Rangers feed. I agree completely, and either Holtby fixes that, or he will never be a good NHL goalie.

I'd really like it if Wolski actually showed up with something this game.
