Gaborik has his issues, but the trade is bizarre from the Rangers point of view. Brassard isn't that good, and Moore isn't a high end puck moving defenseman prospect. They dealt from a weakness and didn't really attempt to solve it. Whether Gaborik works out for Columbus i don't know, but they didn't exactly give much up to get him, keep their core intact and still have 3 1st round picks in the draft.
No idea why any of you want Pominville. You don't buy somebody with one year on his contract when you're in the basement rebuilding. Minnesota had to give up two solid prospects. Larsson is comparable to Shore, Hackett is also a solid prospect.
Luongo hopefully isn't on our minds. No thanks to the contract, we have a great young goaltender and again, we aren't trying to win right now.
