Uh, am I missing something, but why do we have every player's picture? Shouldn't we be missing some??!?!?!?!
Vancouver is one of my favorite arenas to watch a game on TV. I just like it.
This should be a tough test for Allen and the whole team. Not expecting a win, but maybe they'll pleasantly surprise me. Hopefully Steen can continue playing well - he usually does against Vancouver - and it looks like Reaves could have a few potential dancing partners. Should be an interesting game.
Go Blues!
Wade Redden's picture was missing at the beginning
Homeland season 1 was strong. Not to-ever-be-mentioned-in-the-same-breath-as-Breaking-Bad strong, but a quality season.
Season 2 was one of the stupidest pieces of crap ever aired on television. It's exactly what happened with 24. Oh hey, it's an order from a superior ... it must be defied!! It's not a spy thriller anymore, it's a story about Carrie and Brody's forbidden love!!
Two things are going on in this thread I can't explain. First, one of the bottom 5 songs ever recorded is the title of this thread and there's a video link, and there are people missing the game for one of the worst shows to ever appear on TV, much less be popular. Walking Dead is has the worst writing, some of the worst, most wooden acting, the worst pacing (hey let's all stand and talk to each other uninterestingly all episode every episode and sometimes shoot zombies in the same way) in telvision history. This is coming from a person who watched two full seasons of it.
So We Didn't Start the Fire and Walking Dead pretty much deserve a loss for the Blues. How come The Rocketeer or a clip of Jar-Jar Binks isn't included here?
I know it never really had a shot, but that's where your post died.
So when Elliott was stinking to high heaven and no threat to Halak's starting job, and a lost, demoralized, team in front of him were giving up 5 or more goals a game; Halak was too hurt to play and possibly weeks not days away.
Now, Allen has been sharp, and the team looks revigorated and refocused in front of him, and Halak's groin is miraculously cured.
Add in Oshie's comment about Halak not wanting to play, and I think an argument can be made that Halak was more hurt than injured.
Halak has been day to day they kept him on the active roster, which means they expected him to be back within a week. If they thought he would be out at least a week they would have put him back on IR. I said in the Calgary GDT Halak would be starting against SJ. The team is far from refocused they have not played for more than 30 mins in any game this season except maybe the first couple. Allen has not looked sharp at all, just because he has made a couple big saves and they have won 2 games does not make Allen sharp, he is not good enough yet to be in the NHL permanently. There is no way they are going to keep 3 goalies on the roster for much longer, and they will not take a chance putting Elliott on waivers (although I doubt any one would take him). If some one did take him then Halak goes down again the team is SOL.
It would be a lot easier to make the argument that they rushed Halak back before he was ready because of how bad Elliott was playing, but it turned out Halak was less ready to return than they thought. Or maybe Halak lied to the doctors about how much he was hurt so he could get back to playing because of how bad Elliott was playing than once he got on the ice he was hurting more than he expected to be.

1. I am basing what I said about Halak's situation on Jeremy Rutherford's latest Q and A where he even said "At this point, I don't think Halak will be ready for Sunday's game against Vancouver. While the Blues are saying that he is getting closer, there is also fear that Halak's groin injury could linger and make it a week-to-week situation."
2. I disagree about Allen. He has been sharp in 5 of the 6 periods he has played with the 1st period in Detroit probably having something to do with nerves. Since that period, the only shaky goal he gave up was the goal to Datsyuk. He could very easily go out tonight and get lit up, but if he plays again as he did in Calgary, let's give credit where it is due.

lolz. no. I am a writer by trade. It's laughably bad. Much as the major call the other day was on the Backes/Huskins hit. See, Easton, it's a hockey comment
Lets go Blues!!! Hope Allen has another strong game. I think the NHL owes him a make up star of the game after they robbed him Friday night. That was one of the best saves I have ever seen. However lucky it may have been it was still spectacular and given the fact that the Blues one added to it. If they lost it would not have ment much but they one so I'm going to say it could be a turning point for the season. If only Chicago would lose some games once in awhile.
