I think with what we've seen wrt sports teams and logos over the past while Warriors is probably out of the question.

You have to admit with Warriors the gear would be a hot seller.

I wouldn't be surprised if they call them the Manitoba Moose.

It's weird. I had totally forgot about it until the Warriors name was brought up

It would be the Moose. Ive heard Chipman say how much of a shame it was to throw away all the money they put in building the brand

What about the 250 000 Polar Bears Jerseys that TNSE has in the basement of the MTS Centre.

I have been hearing Kootenay for a long time would move to Winnipeg since they don't make a dime there.

PG is another likely candidate but I can't see them moving a Western team east. PG moves to Nanaimo more than likey with Kootenay moving to Winnipeg.

Would love to have a WHL team in the city. CHL hockey is fun to watch - provided your team isn't mired in crapocrity.

Would make for fun outings with my little one.

And even if they're a train wreck, there will always be some good young players worth watching, either on your team or the visitors.

I would definitely pick up a mini-pack if they brought a WHL team here.

Maybe Noel could just slide over and coach TNSE's Jr team, he loves working with young players - so I read on HF Boards.

I remember reading a quote from Jeff Chynoweth (Kootenay GM/President) saying that they had by far the smallest operating budget in the WHL. He figured it was probably one third of what the Oil Kings had for resources.

This.

I've always loved the idea of honouring the Winnipeg Falcons Olympic team, that would be my vote for a team name.

Would love to see the WHL in Winnipeg again. Being able to see some of the young stars in the WHL would be awesome.

Wonder if it would also allow Jets management (specifically Chevy, Zinger) to scout some WHL games, here, that they wouldn't be able to do otherwise. May mean some additional WHL talent in our prospects pool, though they haven't been shy in drafting players from the WHL.

Cool names...just no appropriate names..
Strikers is a gang?

Eitherway, tiptoeing around "gang" affiliations is bull ****. If your shying away from a name because of possible gang affiliations when there's obviously a much longer, stronger tie to something more meaningful your being a turd.

I spent my childhood in MW and IP territory and I wouldn't have even made the connection if you hadn't mentioned it.

Now granted, i find the warriors name too unoriginal myself but still, definitly don't think we should be shying away from names because of possible gang affiliations that haven't been overly relevent in 10+ years.

Winnipeg Thugs, I thinks it's a great name maybe we can get the West side finger gesture as our logo, with a shoulder pad logo being a nice automatic weapon

Not to jump the gun, but if a WHL were to relocate to the Peg, is there room to host two teams out of MTSC? Would another 'home' dressing room be needed? Would the share workout facilities with the Jets?

As for a name, don't mind Moose, Bears, or Falcons. Warriors won't happen - due to MJ.

I'm actually leaning to the Moose. Would be, so Moose Jaw got the Warriors nickname with team from Wpg, well, we'll just take part of your city name for our team. Take that. .

Also, could Mick E Moose then please just be the mascot for the Jr team, and we could get a new mascot for the Jets. Something more appropriate than a moose.
