Who did they have last year at LW? I don't even remember.

But yes, Malkin's line is godawful at ES.

Last year they had Kunitz. Sid has him this season though.

It'll be if Crosby is injured. Malkin plays better when he's top dog.

Are people really this dense, to keep making these types of threads about established star players after less than 20 games?

You should do some research instead of just assuming.

Malkin's numbers when Sid is in the lineup vs when he isn't, are very close.

Crosby came back last year and Malkin continued his tear and won the scoring race and MVP.

Kunitz. He stayed there even after Sid came back. Crosby was playing with Sullivan and Dupuis most of the time.

Sullivan was pretty useless at ES, but at least he could handle the puck when stationary.

That line has been a void at even strength.

I don't anticipate that will continue.

Nevermind established star plays.. but Malkin is without doubt a top-3 player in the game today. There's little doubt he'll turn his goal-scoring game around.

Crosby and Malkin can fight over the Art Ross as long as they want, as long as they keep losing in the first round of the playoffs.

This

Malkin is getting all his points on the PP. The line misses Kunitz, just like Giroux misses Hartnell

Not a lot of time and space with the way teams play Defense these days so having the big forechecking presence creates the space for the skill guys to do their thing.

His chances are there, but the bounces aren't and the left wing on his line has been a carousel of castoffs and pluggers. The goals will come if either those things changes.

True but keep in mind that the first time Crosby was out Malkin had Malone on his line. The second time he had Kunitz.

Time and Space

That's because his other winger sucks. Tangradi, Jeffrey, Boychuk...

Malkin will be dominant again.

This half season with brutal schedules has been hard on many players especially coming in cold with no pre season.

"No. 71 averages 1.47 points-per-game in Crosby's absence and 1.14 points-per-game when the Pittsburgh Penguin's captain is in the lineup?"

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...-sidney-crosby

I think its quite clear he plays better when Crosby is out. He was completely different player in KHL this year.

Should trade him now while his value is still high.

Seriously though, i hope he regains his scoring touch because he's on my fantasy team and I could use him right about now.
