I thought Hoffman was also done the season, and Stone is out another 3-4 weeks.

Same injury and surgery as Cowen.

Not that it matters now, but has anybody entertained the idea that Spezza injured his back in Switzerland but just ignored it? Im not saying i think he did, I just didnt see anybody speculate that.

I know back problems can flair up out of nowhere, but there wasnt any one incident that I saw where he took a hit or something and looked in pain.

Indeed.

Spezza should be back late March-early April if there are no set backs.

There's confusion as to what's going on with Hoffman. I thought it was a broken clavicle but there are conflicting reports saying he's out for the season, so perhaps there's some damage to the shoulder or AC joints?

I'm most interested in seeing how Turris will handle all the pressure now. He is pretty much "our guy" for the rest of the season.

Not likely Milan Michalek will play Monday or Tuesday He's expected to see a doctor again early this week for another look at his knee.
I guess there is a risk that Michalek is out long term. If his knee is more severely hurt then there is a chance that he will require surgery. If he requires surgery he will likely be out for the season.

Cowen had hip surgery. It is not his knee.
Also, Latendresse has whiplash not a concussion.
Petersson had hip surgery the same as Cowen. Not his knee.
Hoffman broke his Collarbone not his shoulder.
Stone broke a finger.
Michalek twisted his knee. No time table on his return.
Regin has a chest injury. Could be back tomorrow.
Spezza could be back for playoffs.

At least you got Karlsson right.

I expect DaCosta to challenge him which would come in our favour catching the other team by surprise when they don't know which to shutdown the most.

I believe Noesen is/was out recently as well.

EDIT: It appears that he is back & he also managed to pick up 3 points (1G,2A) yesterday.

He's been back for a little while now. Couple of weeks or something.

I don't remember seeing a NHL team missing their 2 best D-men and 2 best forwards (well at least most productive) for such extended periods.

I always dreamed about saying that, but this is ballzzzzzzzzz

Haha, I like Da Costa, but I don't think our team will be surprising the league too much.

He returned a few weeks ago but was injured again and missed a couple of games. Back now obviously.

Murray indicated that Lats was skating and would be ready after a few days of practice possibly.

Some food for thought,

If we assume that Spezza, Cowen, and Karlsson miss the remainder of the season, we have already lost a total of 172 man games to injury this season. That would equate to about 293 in a full season. If the rumours of Michalek considering surgery are true, and he misses the remainder of the season as well, that brings us up to 205 or the equivalent of 350 over an 82 game schedule.

Montreal had the most man games lost last year with 356, but the crazy thing for us is that the majority of our games lost come from our #1 center, #1 Defenceman, leading goal scorer from last year, and a top 4 Dman in Cowen.

Needless to say, the injury bug has hit us as hard as any team I can recall, not including the islanders from a few years back.

The Blues a couple years running recently had upwards of 300-400 man games lost I believe... Like the one year when their blue chip defenseman broke his leg in a golf cart accident if I recall?
