Last saturday Gallagher got taken hard in to the boards on a dirty hit by Luke Schenn and received a concussion. Nothing done by either the league or the refs since it was behind the play.

The end result of these entire instances is that reffing LEAGUE WIDE is crap. I hope that McD gets back with the team soon for you guys. Pulling for you all to turn this season around!

Pacioretty is really taking the Matt Cooke path. He hasn't been in the league that long, and this is the 3rd time he's been in the spotlight for headhunting. Eaton, Letang, and now McDonagh. Deserves a suspension with that history, he was going for the head and got it.

Don't think that the lack of supplemental discipline on Schenn had to do with the hit being behind the play, but I agree that it's a matter of the league being inconsistent towards everyone. (except for the Pens.) Hagelin gets three games when a 5 min major was already enough, make up calls are made when the game is on the line. The league just can't get it right.

The Department of Players Safety is a joke, just a pr stunt to show the league is doing something about the safety of the players. The #1 goal is, has been and always will be to grow the game. Punishing Patches for an obvious call (he clearly left his feet, McD was concussed, textbook for a suspension or at least a fine) would have been a pr disaster in Montreal.
If the roles were reversed, it would have been a different story.

So we are without Powe, McDonagh, Girardi, Del Zotto and Nash. Let's just see this as an opportunity for the youngsters to get used to the NHL. We have no choice so make the most of it.

A better picture would be right before contact, because most players do leave their feet after initial contact.

Enough with the 'he left his feet' ********. No, he didn't. Not before contact was made. That's the rule. Take off the homer glasses, everybody. You're making Rangers fans look like ignorant buffoons.

I would like to apologize for my comments on the main board. This was not a strong hockey play. It was not a clean hit and I'm surprised that Pacioretty did not get suspended.

I hope McDo will be alright and I wish Girardi a quick recovery. Gallagher had a concussion (could not remember his name, the city he was in and that he scored in the game) after being boarded by Luke Schenn but he only missed 1 game. I hope McDo has the same fast recovery.

You guys are good, classy fans (unlike Bruins and Leafs fans) and you have every right to be mad at the hit. I would be mad too if it was Subban who got hit and injured like this.

I expected nothing from the DOPS, and they delivered. If this hit did not meet the requirements for further discipline, the conclusion for anyone with a brain is cowardice by Shanahan and friends.

This is why Pacioretty should have been 'approached' last night by a Ranger. Nobody did. Sad.

Nice to know that McDonagh flew with the team, have to think of what matters now.

Thought Pac should have gotten 1 game. Shanny continues to **** this team over. Hagelins hit on alfredsson last year was less serious IMO. If you watched the game it's so obvious to see that Max was going back at McDonagh and wanted to get more than just a piece of them.

If the league isn't going to police this then it's up to the Rangers to.

The way that I look at it is, as a team you are presented with an opportunity to stand up, regardless of who you are, regardless of your prowess at fighting.

To not take up the battle is kind of like saying that they don't think that they themselves are worth it. I'm thinking there are many Canadiens fans who feel pity for the Rangers, felt sorry for them. Who the hell wants pity?

Edit: I can't stand Pacioretty's face and I hope somebody out there can alter it for him a bit.
