The Girardi and Powe news at least lowers my blood pressure a bit.

We knew about Girardi early yesterday, and Powe, while being important, is not a game changer in any sense of the word.

No news about Nash is really troubling at this point. McDonagh, I think will be ok, hopefully sitting for precautionary reasons.

Malkin's concussion diagnosis was put out there almost immediately.

That could be just Bylsma not needing to play guessing games.

Powe may not be a "game-changer" but the team sure as hell played better with him than without him. He is a "glue" player.

I'm just happy that Powe's return can give us a 4th line again. Nash's mystery injury is going to be forever troubling. Perhaps they're treating it like whatever Girardi had at the beginning of the season?

It's all very strange.

Asham is still out as of now with back spasms.

I have to agree with you, it all is very strange right now.

I like to believe that if Nash and McD's prognoses were especially bad they would have said something. I like to believe that Nash and McD could play Thursday.

I like to believe...

I would be surprised if this time next week or at least by the week after we'll have to hear something more than "Not Sure."

I am betting the reason they "aren't sure" with Nash is because he has a head injury and they "aren't sure" to what extent. Remember the Staal injury?

If he does have a concussion (groin or otherwise), I think he must have another injury as well. I can't imagine he would test a concussion in warmups.

Staal played with a concussion for how long? They may have thought he was just not feeling well (read flu-like symptoms)

Annoying?? An understatement at best! This "cloak and dagger" bull**** instituted by Dolan is ridiculous; if Nash has a concussion or a groin issue(pretty much a foregone conclusion), what is the big ****** deal with sharing the information with the fans and media??

Yeah, it's possible. I'm still a skeptic though.

When your team has scored 4 goals in the last 4 games, it's probably not the best bet to bench two up and coming kids, who want to prove they belong and certainly haven't looked that bad, for two grinders.

But this is Torts, and Torts loves his jam. At this rate, we'll be putting two fourth lines on the ice vs WPG...
Don't we always?

Have any of the beat writers grilled Torts on Nash, asking several times if he has a concussion? They might get something out of Torts even if its a pissed off response that hints at something one way or another. Sure it's a quick way for the writer not to get anymore of his questions answered but if Torts is allowed to get pissy with the media why cant it be the other way around? Lose your credentials?

Girardi is a machine. I am positive of that. Nothing can beat this man.

Really happy that Powe is ready. The incident looked really bad.

Now all we have left is our best forward and best defenseman. And of course we never hear anything about them.

Anyone think we may be keeping what's wrong with Nash quiet so when he returns opposing teams don't target the injury? I think if it were concussion they would tell us. Just a thought

Only the Penguins would target his groin.

I hope so. What worries me is that his status progressed from
1. flu-like symptoms
2. banged up
3. not sure

From this I gather that he either has:
1. multiple injuries (concussion and groin)
2. just a concussion, or
3. had the flu and now is sitting out because of a groin injury.

Yeah if its his groin, its not something a team can necessarily target, lol

I would think from an organizational standpoint, if he indeed has a concussion - you would want to tell the media simply because a star player would most likely receive a little preferential treatment in the ways of calls on the ice and even the opposition in some cases knowing they can't hit high. (though it may not stop them in the heat of the moment).

For what its worth, I felt Nash wasnt skating full bore the last 2 games he played. It simply could have been an energy thing, or even related to a concussion, but it seemed to me like he wasnt going hard like in games prior. You can read into that however you want, but i clearly remember thinking that before he was taken out.
The screwy thing is you can tie it to both a groin thing or a head thing, so who the **** knows.

The mystery continues...

I'm still not willing to rule out spontaneous Robert De Niro face.

I know this is total speculation, but did anyone else see that tweet from saome random girl on Saturday or Sunday? Something to the effect of she was sitting next to Nash at brunch and he said he was feeling much better....was retweeted by Brooks or someone - only reason I ask

What a relief to see Girardi, Powe and DZ on the ice. I just wish we could have some info about Nash and McD.

Girardi continues to show why he is a heart and soul player.

Its really getting ridicolous at this point, I understand its the team policy and we really have no right to demand to know anything, but come on.. we deserve some kind of update. All we need on Nash is upper or lower body injury and we will know... although I already know.. just need it confirmed that he is indeed concussed.
