Unranked Alex MacDonald and Luc Poirier from NS... Too small, or not good enough?

He said he'd have another ranking leading up to the draft. Can't wait to see what it looks like now that some of his top 10 are ranked in the 4-5th rounds

I'm pretty sure anyone anywhere would get excited about a kid like Noah Hanifin.

Silly overreactions, typical HFboards stuff though.

The lack of goalies on the list is hilarious. Might be a high scoring league if this keeps up
Overreactions is you claiming that CSR is somehow biaised without having any facts to back it up regardless of whether you are the first to mention it or 100th to do so.

CSR Scouts:
Quote:
Scouts
Robert Goulet Quebec - Montréal Métro Region
Donald Desrosiers Quebec - Montréal Métro Region
Marc Coudé Quebec - Saguenay Region
Patrick Lachance Quebec - Quebec City Region
Adam Thériault Quebec - Quebec City Region
François Graveline Quebec - Richelieu Region

Steven Callahan New Foundland
Luc Michaud New Brunswick / PEI
Bob Doyle Nova Scotia
They've always scouted Quebec a lot more than the Maritimes, that's been a fact for a long time. The CSR is always very inaccurate whether it be with Atlantic Canadians or Quebecois, you're the one making this about "regionalism". The majority of the people who have input on the CSR list only see Maritime players at end of year tournaments which has always skewed the rankings. Get over it

Edit: Just dawned on me that you don't realize I mean guys in the Maritimes being both underrated & overrated by the CSR group. A good example was a couple of years ago they had Michael Lyle in the first round (maybe early 2nd?) and he was no more than a 4th or 5th round pick (Can't remember when he went exactly)

So basically you're saying that some of the passed over 96's from last year will get drafted ahead of the 97's?

I think he is hoping that happens, I can't see any 96 that is the 9-12 round going in the first 5 rounds.

They do have a 5'6" 147lbs '96 born forward ranked in the first round. all good is definitely a fan

There's a few other 96 borns ranked in the top few rounds, but CSR list is always very different then draft results. I'm sure a couple '96 borns will go during the '97 born rounds, for me it would take some special circumstances to pick an older player in those first few rounds.

I highly doubt that Sprong reports to CB, big market teams will buy him off.

1- 5 scouts in Quebec, 3 in the Maritimes, considering that the pool of prospects in Quebec is far larger due to population size, it strikes me as a very fair split. So "get over it".

2- I can live with the idea that Maritime players are both underrated and l
overrated yet your "not to generous to Maritime players" sure meant underrated, not both. Anyhow. Can't blame you for backing off now.

1- All the Quebec scouts are all watching 2 leagues, with emphasis on 1 league so they're all watching the same Quebec players whereas each Maritime scout is watching 1 league. So 1 guy has to convince 5 guys that some kid in Newfoundland that they've never seen is better then a Quebec kid that all 5 have watched and know well lol

2- The generous bit was specific to Campbell Pickard.

Never saw someone defend the CSR list before

that's very true. the newfoundland kids in particular, those guys are just not on the radar, and it isn't because they're not as good as the kids from quebec.

that's not really a criticism of the csr scouts or the teams' scouts, its just the way it is. out of sight, out of mind.

Probably the reason we're seeing more Newfies go to bigger name schools/teams. Some examples off the top of my head are Nathan Noel, Andrew Picco, Liam Hynes, Adam Holwell, Kris Hodge, Luke Batt.

Not really. There was lots of talk at the Halifax Icejam so that raised his stock quite a bit, but im not surprised CSR left him off the first round. There are also other 'Highly touted' Atlantic Canadians that were also left off the first round too. We will see how it plays out.

There will be some for sure use that card so some teams don't drat them and use it as a bargining tool and some that are going NCAA.

I would like to hear from Scoutman on his list about the ones that dropped way off his first round list??

I wonder if anyone will manipulate the draft like the Sea Dogs did years back.
