Who do you think is our Kryptonite?

A lot of threads about this. Teams always having our numbers.

My picks:
Boston (will be on everyones)
Buffalo
I would've said Philly too.
Vancouver
at Calgary

Carolina and Boston. Always feel we have a chance against every one else but not them. What is our stats against those two and others in the last couple of seasons?

I think Buffalo was, I think Philly was...I don't think Boston will be for much longer (that last game, seemed awfully close and just before this new team identity emerged).

Carolina is definitely a team that seems to play against us well...Maybe it's having disgruntled former Leafs as their head coach that does us in, or simply being a small market team, loose and with nothing to lose by coming into our building, many, playing for family and friends...I think in the years to come it's going to be Ottawa. There's a lot of talent ready to impact that club.

And then there's New Jersey - always The Devils. But at one time or another, they're everybody's Kryptonite.

Teams aside.

Like the poster said about former players......

It really does seem like certain guys are our krytonite.

-Boston Defense is high on my list.
-Crosby seems to have an extra step.
-Back-up goaltending
-players in a funct.

It's easy to pick teams that always beat us - let's flip it into something more positive. What teams numbers do we seem to have?

In recent memory, it seems we tend to do well against Pittsburgh, Washington, and Tampa Bay.

The group Wilson chose to ice,and how he chose to deploy them was a losing combo right? Actually its been our powerplay/Penalty kill ratio thats been killing us for years now.

The poor ratio is back presently(sorry to see).

No teams have anything to do with how good we are,or how bad we are.

Coaching/Management have everything to do with it.

Carlyles next big chore with this group is to stabilize the special teams. Its not being brought up much with a winning record though.

Might be time to move some players in trade to bring in Carlyle type tough to play against forwards. Not going to mention any names, but the forward group needs some shake-up still. The defense has good depth imo,and needs to be kept that way.

I believe in past 2 or 3 years our record against buffalo has been abysmal. Also....boston.

Boston
Vancouver
Calgary (when playing in Calgary)
Carolina
Florida (past couple of years)
Philly

Buffalo always plays us tough but I feel like we're slowly shedding the Buffalo curse.

Actually, I think our record against Buffalo the past two years has improved. Two seasons ago, they either won the series or tied the series I think. Last year they tied the series. This season, Buffalo has the series right now due to an OT point they got from us. It's nothing like the strong arm Boston has on this team which is odd because the year Boston actually won the Cup, the Leafs split the series with them.

I expect it too, but 2 seasons ago the Leafs beat the Bruins 4 times. It seems like ages ago probably because the Leafs got so thoroughly beaten last season every time they met.

Buffalo is the next one that came to mind, but it seems like the Leafs are exorcising those demons.

Lately it seems like Carolina has the Leafs' number.

Doesn't it always seem like young guys always get their first NHL point/goal/hat trick against the Leafs?

I don't remember the last time the Leafs beat the Flyers in a playoff series.

Carolina has definitely been a pain in our side. And obviously recently Boston.

Boston's best season was last year, the rest of the seasons honestly we've been fairly decent to them, hell 2 seasons ago we went 4-2 against them. One team that seems to always beat us is Buffalo and Carolina.

The 2 that scare me the most

Bruins (obviously)
Sabres (When Miller is in net, I kind of accept that we're getting a loss)
