Juggling Lines

Why are people suggesting juggling lines? Each line has good chemistry right now and is producing. Maybe not every line every game is producing, but 3 of the 4 are producing every game. Everything is working fine, and the chemistry for each line seems to be perfect. I don't understand why so many people are trying to get lines changed in the middle of the season when we're 12-0-3. Q shouldn't juggle any lines until we lose a few games. Even after our first loss, he still shouldn't juggle the lines. Just gotta wait it out a few games, and then if a few losses come close together maybe consider it.

I bet the people suggesting line changes right now are the same people that were complaining all last season and into the playoffs about Q juggling the lines too often. Now the lines are working, and people are still suggesting juggling them?

I think people are suggesting one switch of a person form 1 and 2 line. I have heard no person here talk about line swapping and moving players around other than that. 2nd line has been poor and people discuss how to snap them out of it. We are not coaches and this is a discussion board....to discuss things.

I've heard about moving Saad down and Carcillo up, moving carcillo to multiple lines actually. Kane and Hossa switches have been requested.

And I realize this is a discussion board which is why I created a topic of discussion.

I wouldn't mind Kane and Hossa switching just to see if it could get both Hossa and Sharp going.. but, I don't have a problem with how the lines are playing right now. When Carcillo comes back, just pop him on the 4th line. Saad's played more than well enough to keep his position in the top-6 and on the top line.

The lines are playing great as a whole, especially the bottom six. Maybe a Kane/Hossa swap, though. Kane should also be on the first PP unit.

This win streak is a good wake up call for Q. Guys need time to develop chemistry with each other some times. Maybe he won't be so quick to make changes moving forward.

I think moving anyone around right now would be a very poor idea. Let it ride!!

Do NOT make a change to the 3-4 lines except for the rotation that has been in place...just include Carcillo in that rotation. I wouldn't mind a Kane hossa swap if things stagnate.

Saad-Toews-Hossa
Sharp-Bolland-Kane
Bickell-Shaw-Stalberg
Carcillo-Kruger-Frolik
Mayers, Bollig

That's what it should be. Carcillo will be more effective than Mayers and Bollig, so you just switch them.

We aren't talking about juggeling the lines, we wonder when and with whom Carcillo will be back in the lineup.

I have a hard time believing that a coach with 600+ wins in the NHL has that many wake up calls anymore about what works and doesn't.

Ok, I'll bite.

Stalberg-Toews-Sharp
Hossa-Bolland-Kane
Bickell-Shaw-Saad
Carcillo-Kruger-Frolik
Mayers, Bollig

Kane feeding Hossa is a beautiful thing. Toews trailing Stalberg for the rebound is a beautiful thing.

Neither Kane or Hossa play the left side.. it's part of the reason they've never played together - outside of last year when Kane played centre, which hopefully won't happen again.

What does that have to do with it? Sometimes coaches get set in their ways and are slower to change than new coaches. Q's constant line juggling can be a problem, especially for rookies or newer guys.

Line 2 is not playing well

Flipping Kane/Hossa wouldn't be bad thing at this point as Hossa/Saad dont seem to have much chemistry as well

I would be interested in seeing this happen. I think Saad's production would improve with Kane opposite him.

I'd flip Saad and Sharp:

Sharp-Toews-Hossa
Saad-Bolland-Kane

This is a legitimate question. I think I suggested juggling lines mostly because ever since Quenneville has been coaching that is what I expect him to do. It makes for interesting conversation as well being a fantasy coach thinking of my own line combinations. Right we don't need to change anything unless we go on a three game losing steak only then it should be considered.

The injury to Hossa is a legitimate reason to juggle lines. You need to admit that. I think you are right less juggling is the best move.

Lines will be juggled, all the coaches do this and is not only a Q thing. I am saying that I really doubt Q will get a revelation about the benefits of consistent lines.

Then who does Kane pass too? Kane is a playmaker first and foremost, taking away all the best goal scoring talent from the team from your best playmaker is not a good move.
