If I'm a GM obviously I'd prefer to have Hall, but I think Ladd would be a bit better on Kesler's wing, got better vision than Hall IMO, Hall seems like too much of a heads-down kind of guy and AV and MG like guys who can play anywhere in the lineup and Hall wouldn't be able to work with guys like the twins and Ladd could slot in there nicely, as well as with Kesler and Booth, or with Schroeder as his C, even on the 4th line he'd do well.
In a vacuum, it's obviously Hall, but contract, chemistry etc, I'd like Ladd on my team, granted you can't go wrong having either.
Hall is the better player but I'd take Ladd every time.
We have enough skilled players, we need more gritty guys like Ladd who was fantastic for us in that department.
Hall would be Chicago's first line LW right now by a country mile but I don't know that I'd put Ladd ahead of Patrick Sharp. We haven't played Chicago yet this year but if you get a chance to catch an Oilers game watch Hall's cycle work and his physical play. He's really turned on the grit this year for a skill guy.
