Ugh. To think Salo played in the game after that (plus the situation with him was much worse)...

Volpatti looked a little banged up in the Behind the Lens photos. I'm assuming it was from that fight. He's been fighting quite a bit this season. It's going to take a toll sooner or later and I hope his head stays healthy.

Yeah, he took a big shot. I'm assuming it's partly why he's out tonight.

I wish the former Calgary Tower was playing over Emery.

But I think that nullifies out backup curse.

Meh, can't say I agree with this but hopefully Schneider bounces back well.

These next three out out four road games against Chicago, Nashville, and Detroit with a full roster will show us if this team is a contender in the West or not.

Toews is still a whiner. Bolland is still a rat. Kane is still a little ******, and Keith is, and will always be, a POS cheap-shot artist.

The only difference is, those things don't dominate the discussion here. Apparently talking about the Canucks takes precedence.

Huh? We JUST got Kesler and Booth back, shouldn't we give them a little time to gel first before we pass judgement on them? Without a fully up to speed Booth and Kesler I think there's no question we are not a prime contender.

Booth will need some time to find his stride. I don't think this road trip is time enough for him to work his way back into the top 6.

So, in my books we're still a few more games away from seeing what this team is capable of.

It wouldn't surprise me to see him get some PP time on the 2nd unit tonight (if we get a PP, that is...) Having a guy willing to go to the front of the net - who actually has the size and muscle to get there - is a plus.

One thing is for sure the canucks have been playing really solid hockey and lost. If they continue to play solid hey will be fine but the canucks need to put the pedal to the metal and not rest on 1 or 2 goal leads cause the Hawks will feast on that with their transition game.

I was at that game. The "balls of steel" chant was legendary.

Looking forward to this one. Not that I expect it, but a blowout would be just gravy.

Too early.

Injuries, scheduling and our general level of play nearer the end of the season will be a better determination.

You don't need Kesler and Booth playing at their highest level to judge whether the Canucks can compete with the best in the West as a team. People overvalue Booths importance to the teams chances of winning. Guys Like Burrows and Hansen who make half as much money as Booth play a much larger role in our chances to win a game than that overpaid Booth.

Looking forward to hearing what kind of pity-party Toews throws after we win tonight. After all of his thoughtful, intelligent discourse during the lockout, I'm always game for one of his insightful, completely intelligible quotes.

Win. And cross-check that rat-face Bolland. But not necessarily in that order.

Would've went with Lou, his numbers In Chi-town regular season are very very good

AV's coin has got it wrong 3 times in a row IMO

Not confident on breaking their streak now

I think Schneider comes back with a real strong game, he looked upset after Dallas and I think he'll re-focus and lock it down. Not sure about the rest of the team, looks like they're having a wee bit of trouble re-integrating Kesler and his generally rambunctious style back into the lineup. We will see whether adding Booth makes this issue better or worse chemistry-wise.

He has incredible stats against Chicago in the regular season over the past 3 years. There are no question marks.

Agreed.
Useful to ease him in as well.

Man, so much to look forward to in this game.
And it's the Hawks' to lose.

It's going to be like this all year. No complacency, play sharp or sit. Will make us a better team in the long run.
luo was better vs blues than schneids was vs stars ..
but im fine with starting either one

It's not like Schneider has looked like some tank against the Hawks.

Luongo didn't play that well against the Blues, so now it's Schneider's turn. Goaltending is the least of our concern right now, I expect a good game from either goalie. I feel optimistic about the game, can't wait to see what our full team looks like, hopefully we can hold a lead for once.
