40 minutes ago I was on my way to class and I stopped off at the Subway to pick up a Five dollar footlong. I paid for the order and the clerk "Suzy", who looked about 16, asked me which sub I'd like. I was all set to get a Philly Cheesesteak and be on my way. There were 7 - 8 people standing behind me.
When I mentioned the Philly Cheesesteak she said she was unable to give me those for 5 dollars as they were considered "special" subs and do not classify as "five dollar footlongs". I didn't give her a chance to reason and explained that this information was provided to me at the time of purchase and the agreement was to provide a 5 dollar footlong.
So, hungry as I was, I decided that this was just a one-off issue and I would let it go. Next to the counter were the cookies. I asked for a cookie. By the way, now there are about 10 people behind me with happy looks on their faces - probably due to Subway's great treatment. She stated that the cookies were a special item and that I could include them in my meal. I explained to her that I had purchased cookies before and they were considered a special item and to please put the cookies into the bag. She consented and repeated that they were considered a special item. I pointed out that there were SIGNS EVERYWHERE stating what were "special" items versus non-special items.
There were people behind me chatting happily and I believe the lady right behind me had children in the car waiting. I explained to "Suzy" that I wanted a bag to carry my lunch in. She stated she could not charge it with my meal since I paid using my debit card. I asked to pay the 5 cent bag fee with a quarter and she said that was possible. I explained to her that she does not need the managers approval for paying a bag fee on my card.
I ended up getting a Subway Club and a cookie. I have been ecstatic about this all afternoon.
I mean I just walked into Subway and saw the special items CLEARLY listed and the parody had to be done
Wendy's Premium Fish Fillet Sandwich is their seasonal seafood offering around this time of year. It features a hand-cut fillet of North Pacific Cod, breaded in a deep-fried panko crumb coating along with lettuce and tartar sauce on a buttered and toasted bun.
My local Wendy's offers them for $3.49, but I received this one courtesy of Wendy's.
The bun used here is Wendy's premium bun that they use for their non-junior hamburgers and chicken sandwiches. It's pretty soft and has a distinct buttery flavor.
