You are not a car you will get killed if hit by one, it almost seems like some bikers have this need to prove that they belong in a car's lane just as much as a car does. I really don't understand it, you aren't proving anything besides that fact that you do not care about your life and the lives of others.

I really just don't understand the majority of city bikers I see. As a kid I biked everywhere, all over town, and where did I ride... the sidewalk. I would go in the street when there was no car in the street or to cross to the other side. When you see a car coming you get back onto the sidewalk. I can sort of understand bike lanes in cities where people crowd the sidewalks and there is no where for a bike to go but on the street, where a designated lane exists, but where in MN is a sidewalk that has zero room on it. Just be safe bikers that is all.
You would not do well in Seattle my friend.

I don't mind bikers who are cautious and considerate of cars. Most of them fit in this category.

Legally, they should be in the street, not the sidewalk, but even better is taking a dedicated bike lane when available.

I don't mind bikers as long as they don't get on my way. I do mind the bikers who don't know/care about the rules, like which side of the road they're supposed to be in.

In Finland, you're allowed to bike in most of the sidewalks/pedestrian roads as long as you stay on your side. Usually, the road is split in half, other half belonging to the bikers. Doesn't stop them from taking all of the ****ing road sometimes. Especially annoying in the winter when there's less room and usually only one dry patch... which is taken up by the bikers, despite it being on the pedestrian side.

And yes, I've elbowed an oncoming biker in the face for being on pedestrian side of the road. In my defense, I witnessed him almost crashing into a child trolley only because he didn't care to avoid it.

I'm amused by bikers that are out in the blizzard with their snow tires.

It's much, much more dangerous to be biking on a sidewalk.

Why do you not carry a spare tube, Gopher?

Biking in the summer is fine, but you are starting to see more and more people doing it in the winter. Why? It sounds like a good way to break your neck when you hit a patch of ice. I always thought guys who had to do this in the winter had lost their drivers license for one reason or another.

You feel this way until you bike somewhere, and then it's pretty much the inverse. It's safer for you to be visible in a traffic lane, and drivers are pretty much the most awful, inattentive people on earth.

+1,000

If you're trying to bike on a shoulder and some teenager is on the phone texting, they're not going to see you out of the corner of their eye, could easily clip you. You have a right to the lane, get in the lane, where drivers can see you.

Fun times with eye drops.

Because it's enough of a pain to do when just biking in the city that I normally try to get away with a patch kit (that doesn't help when you're on a tube that has already been patched once, but that's another issue). I'll bring a spare when I bike trails or longer distances that take me further away from where I live.

Put in a solid two hours on the guitar tonight. Woman's watching Grey's Anatomy, puts a damper on my video game time.

Even as a big Palahniuk fan, I thought the Fight Club movie was better than the book. Especially the ending.

My mom got back from the hospital after 10 hours... They didn't find anything, likely just muscle pain.

Long wait for her, but at least she's okay.

Anybody ever heard of Pitney Bowes? Had an interview there this week for a job sorting mail there. Seems like a pretty easy gig.

Got some new pedals today for the mountain bike. My shins are already a bit queasy after seeing the pins...

Only one more mid-term to go then it's Spring Break time. Get to kick off my spring break with a Wild game against San Jose too.

while i'm generally in favor of people doing what they can for the environment and their health, i'm not going to lie...i do picture running down center of the lane cyclists nearly every time they're dawdling. Typically its in the winter where they're riding in established ruts. makes sense...if i were biking i'd do the same. but then again i wouldn't be biking because my max speed in those conditions up a long hill is going to be around 10 miles per hour and i would realize how ****ing annoying it would be for a commuter with, say, a sick child screaming in their back seat to be stuck behind me. Ride the ******* bus.
