Islanders currently up 4-2 over the Caps, with 5 minutes left. With all the discussion about homer vs. non-homer commentators, I have to say that Goring and the PBP guy are pretty neutral.
Islanders have looked pretty good this game. Caps took a bunch of penalties, including two double minors, one assessed against Ribiero after he complained about a call against him. Big surprise.
Edit: hahaha! Ovi just gave up the puck on a PP late in the game, and the islanders just popped a shorty! 5-2 now. That's two turnovers by him that resulted in goals.
I wish the game could be stopped if a team thinks they scored. The Isles-Caps game went on for a good 3-4 minutes before they could review Tavares' goal. And the only reason the clock stopped was because Moulson scored. So his didn't count and they had to rewind the clock.
Should be able to request a stoppage because you scored, and if you didn't it's a delay of game penalty or something.

That was riduculously weird - it's crazy to have to put that much time back on the clock, and call a goal back to award a different goal. Just weird.
EDIT: on another note, NJD is you know what'ing the bed today against Carolina. It's now 5-1 going into the 3rd. Montreal also not doing the Jets any favours - 3-1 TBL with 7min left in the 2nd. Grr.

Yeah, I was trying to see what correlation they could make out of that. It seems every team is doing it now. I'm glad that they're honouring their legends, but quit talking and just play hockey, please.
Crazy that Tampa lost today. Up 3-1 to lose 4-3. Oh well, still a 4 point lead for us with a game in hand on them. Now if the Caps and Canes would just start losing a few more games we'd be okay.
Watching the highlights of the CGY v LAK game from last night, and it only reinforces my distaste for the LA PBP guy. Sometimes he sounds like he's doing a bad impression of Jerry Seinfeld. Fox Sports Kings really needs to hire the radio PBP guy from the Kelowna Rockets.

That's Jim Fox, their colour guy, who does that. It doesn't bother me since him and Bob Miller the PBP guy (who is a hall of famer, btw) do a great job with the game, some of he most unbiased and intelligent guys in the entire NHL. Both of those guys are legends and going nowhere.
They ranked 4th in the NHL among all broadcasters in this list...
