Flames - Don't reload...rebuild

In response to the 'reload' thread. Writing's on the wall. Think about all the assets we can get for Iginla.. Kiprusoff.. Tanguay.. Cammalleri.. Glencross.. Stempniak.. Giordano.. Bouwmeester.. Wideman.. etc.

Basically anyone 30 and over should be moved for prospects and/or picks. Go Edmonton Oilers style for the next two or three years, draft MacKinnon/Jones and McDavid, then prepare to hoist

I hate to break it to you, but it's going to take a lot longer than two or three years to even get back to the playoffs, let alone the Cup.

It'll be a lot quicker than adding and subtracting players to the same, aging core, year, after year!

I agree...it is refreshing to see a Flame fan that is realistic.....get what you can for the vets....get a nice stud from a high draft pick this year....and see what you can get for Iggy and Kipper....you could turn it around in 2-3 years .......

I'd probably go somewhere in-between...

If I was Feaster I would try to target one VERY good young player and throw a Glencross or a Giordano or both out there to get that player, ideally a center... maybe a d-man depending.

Then rack in a top 5-10 pick this year and take another good forward. Build around those 2 and Baertschi. Sign 1 more offensive threat.

Ya I think the Flames could pull a Flyers quick turn around.

If we rebuild we will most likely keep several key vets to take some pressure off the youth so

How does the fanbase knowing that management doesn't want to rebuild mean the fans are in denial? We just know what ownerships mandate is, as ****** as it is.

Alot of Flame players get to pick where they are traded to hard times ahead for Flames to get quality back on trades.

Not really if the players are told that Calgary is going to want to rebuild if they don't want to spend the next 3+ years of their careers losing they will accept a trade.

Maybe Cole + 1st + lesser prospect, but not Cole + Rattie + 1st. That's just way too much imo.
