Absolutely. 7-7 last year, 2-3 today. If you go .500 in them you've done your job, IMO.

No! You have to have your 2 best and most consistent shooters go first. If the other team scores twice, you don't want an unreliable shooter taking the second shot.

They know better than I do, of course, but every time I watch a shootout I think players should be coming in with MORE speed. Circle around, pick up the puck at full speed, barrel in on net, back the goaltender in and snap it or make one quick, decisive deke like Shaw did. They seem way too deliberate most of the time, giving the goaltender every chance to visually pick up the puck and follow it. And yes, I know they're doing it to get the goalie moving laterally, but it hardly ever seems to work.
