I wonder what Philly could get for Giroux if they decide to trade him this season. It's not a totally unrealistic possibility, since they've done some crazy things in the past when they performed poorly.

Flyers aren't suddently a bad team , they're injured and have a bad start thats it
He's young, his contract is SO good (2 years left at 3.75M) and he's their best player so it wouldn't make much sense unless the return was substantial. In terms of what they'd want, I'd assume it would be a centre who can play in the top 6, a really good defenceman, and likely some prospects/picks to top it off. It's so hard to gauge the value of a really good player on a really good team because the return has to provide immediate impact.
If the offer was right I'd trade anyone on the Flyers. That being said Snider wont let it happen. They'd just find it embarrassing to trade two captains in two years.
flyers could get the blue line help they need and a good pick--by blue line help I mean a guy who will play top4 minutes--not a scrub who is playing 5-6 on a team and their fan base will TRY SO HARD to convince flyer fans that he would be one of their top guys

Ok. Canucks offer up Kassian, Jensen and a 1st round pick in 2013 2nd round pick in 2013
But instead of this, just cut Claude some slack. He just went from basically no responsibilities to being Captain of a VERY storied franchise.
Its messing with his head a bit. He thinks he has to be 2 years more mature than he is and take all his team mates problems on his shoulders. All new captains go through this process until they find themselves.
Chris Pronger would be a great help here but I think Kimmo should be trying to give him guidance.

The mistake they made is making their highest scoring player the captain on the basis of his scoring (At least that's my speculation on it, because he never did anything to demonstrate that he's captain material, and I highly doubt he asked for the position). Just because a player can score doesn't mean they're cut out to be captain. Like gaborik doesn't wear a letter because that's not the type of player he is.

Yes, it is an unrealistic possibility. Giroux was named captain of the franchise just 1 month and 1 day ago.
If you honestly think they are shopping him, then I don't even know what to say.

Flyers players have been saying that Giroux has been the leader of the team for over a year now.
LMAO at people saying he's a poor Captain... he's only been Captain for a month.
Give the guy at least a season before you evaluate his performance.
And to the guy saying Giroux isn't a leader... are you serious? He's been the unquestioned leader of the Flyers for at least the past year if not past two years.
