I really like Bordeleau as a 4th line player. He's not a defensive liability so far, he can fight pretty well as a heavyweight and he hits...HARD!!

Elliott has had a really good game so far.

Is Hejduk injured? I haven't seen him all 2nd period.

Top lines need to ditch the finesse game and take a hint from the fourth line and grind out some shots on goal

This is kinda sad game to watch. We are just trying to keep game 0-0. Pretty boring. Just waiting for the first St.Louis goal...

He looked a little banged up and got up slowly after a hit behind the net earlier in the 2nd. Not sure if that's playing into it or not.

The "long offseason" excuse really has to be coming to an end though, by this time, with the practices and the games that they have played, that shouldn't be much of an issue now.

Roenick says that tonight is when Varly finally became the goaltender the Avs needed. This is apparently the first time Roenick has seen Varly play.

I wouldn't say that yet, but he's been progressively worse the last few games.

His skating is really holding him back at times, and sometimes he just completely stops working once he gets back in his own zone.

I think a lot of that is the reason Duchene's line seems to get pinned in their own zone for an extended shift at least once or twice a game.

The difference in passing ability in terms of judgment, crispness, accuracy, etc is one of the most obvious things in this game. Blues also better in consistently moving their feet both on offense & defense.

Roenick is a classical analyst. Will say anything he needs to which is sensationalist enough to fill air time.

And his book sucks.

I'm sorry...WHAT!? Hunwick truly has the worst hockey IQ of anyone on this team, and possibly anyone who's ever worn an Avs jersey. He makes the same dumb mistakes every game, and his positional sense is nil.

Not saying Hejda and O'Byrne are hockey geniuses, but please don't say Hunwick is our smartest d-man.

This might be the best game I've seen yet from Greg Zardoz. Dude's not only blocking shots, he's laying guys out left and right.

Jeremy Roenick is just showing us that he knows absolutely NOTHING about the Avalanche.

And the other guy with him isn't helping. They both are acting completely oblivious to WHY Varlamov has allowed 10 goals in the last 2 games, let's just forget the fact that our horrible excuse of a Defense allowed a team record of SOG from the Oilers, and then there was that MESSED up game against the Preds.

Roenick believing that we acquired Varlamov "a couple of years ago..."

I hate when analysts who very clearly don't pay attention to our teams start acting like they're the forthright authority on them

It seems like they are out there with the ROB paring most of the time that happens

Yeah but if you say it enough times, other people will believe it.
