NBC loves to prop up Sacco for some reason. Pisses me off every time.

The worst player on the ice tonight scored the only goal for either team. Go figure.
Palushaj was the worst player on the ice. Benched in the third period and overtime wasn't he? Though Hunwick was an awful turnover machine as well.

The Blues have what a defense should look like.

This game was a Joe Sacco special. Rely on the goaltender and hope the forwards have just a little bit more than the other team. It's these type of games coupled with the injuries that will keep him around to the detriment of the team.

The passing between the two teams was seriously like night and day. That is how I would like the Avs to play when we become playoff contenders.

Did I say shoot from the blue line? No I didn't. Best place to shoot is closer to the hash marks than right in front of the goalie. I never said it was a bad scoring opportunity. But it would have been a better scoring chance if Stazz didn't wait to shoot until he was right in front of the goalie. You have to realize the difference between a scoring opportunity and a goal. Go look at where some of the better shooters shoot from when they're on a 2 on 1.

You know what sadly one of the best things about watching that game was not having to hear Haynes and McNabb gush over some mediocre fundamental **** the Avs are doing with replays and everything to back it up.

It was just nice listening to a hockey broadcast that didn't come off as a propaganda.

I thought both Barrie and Elliott held their own today. I thought all of the defense played decently.

It's not like Blues had all these awesome chances. Both teams had a few solid chances but it was a very uneventful game. Lots of cycling. Blues are a deeper team and is heavier on the forecheck and works harder on the backcheck. That's why they can dominate Avs during stretches, since we don't have the puck skill to counter attack.

Yeah exactly. This team should be full of professionals, but it looks more like they are having FUN. Jones sure looks like he's had off-season of fun.

Yeah, but Engblom went pretty soft on the Avs I thought.

Elliot (Point shots aside) was pretty bad again. But I thought Barrie was excellent. Zanon had his best game as an Av. O'Byrne was horrific.

Our passing hasn't really improved since day 1. I was hoping it was off-season rust but it's just lack of skill/organization. The worst thing is that this team struggles to get the puck into the zone and when they do then it's usually one pass and no more minus the occasional cycle by a line that can't finish.

I don't think that the two young D held their own because they did make some rookie mistakes but they contributed far more than SOB and the other pylons minus Hunwick usually do.

I knew Jones was going to score if he hit the net.

Halak had not made 20 saves in a game this year...

Jones shot was the Avs 20th shot tonight!

+ Varlamov, nothing more needs to be said.
+ Stastny played great.
+ Parenteau defensively.
+ Barrie looked great offensively.
+ Elliott actually had a good defense game.
+ McLeod I thought was our best player.
+ Bordeleau had a decent game by his account.

- There is something wrong with Jones decision-making. He was always a streaky scorer, but his decision making has never been this bad.
- Parenteau offensively was trash.
- The whole defensive core was below average, IMO.
- Passing was dreadful
- Palushaj had his worst game as an Avs.
- Rest of the team was 'meh'.

The only thing I don't completely agree with is PAP. He didn't do great by any strech, but I don't think he was absolutely terrible offensively.

Stastny? I feelt like he had one of his ghost games. Had a chance in OT but that's it.

LOL Hunwick outworks Stewart and Jones who was awful all night (did he go offsides continually all night because he thought he'd score like Doosh) gets the game winner off Shattner-Kirk

I thought a boy named Koba-Sue had a great game respectivelly

Varly kept us in it early on but I thought we were the better team in the second half of the game. The shot total was one sided but the Blues didn't have too many great scoring chances. Halak also got a bit lucky with the one post and two or three times when the puck just sat in the crease but the Avs couldn't put it in.
