Leonsis is a stupid owner. Sticking with Ernie should tell you everything you need to know. George will be with this team. For a long time.

All Hail Dan Snyder. At least he isn't afraid to make changes.

Honest question: when's the last time a GM got fired for not making it far enough in the playoffs (i.e. his team made the playoffs and he still got fired)?

Not saying fire him or don't fire him either way. Just curious about the precedent. Anyone know?

Another rookie coach.. Oates did good in the regular season... in the playoffs he did close to nothing, or what he did or said did not work, or were not easily seen.

For the year overall he met reasonable expectation but George sets a low bar hiring guys with no experience.

Its not Oates's fault, this was his year to learn.

He hires people that he can easily fire. His coaches are like his personal human kevlar, they exist to shield him.

Dale Tallon, and I will let a professional racing driver tell you how the Blackhawks screwed up because they didn't make it out of the 1st round 2 of the last 4 seasons.

Well, lets not forget the Vinny years. But at least he realized how upset fans were that this guy was GMing the Skins. And he had the balls to get rid of him. Ted is sackless.

It's pretty sad that an owner is applauded for having balls just for getting rid of an underperforming GM that the fans decided to hold accountable.

Our defense is so Jekyll and Hyde.

Carlson and Alzner no hits tonight. Our 2 stud young Dmen cant even find a way to log 1 hit between them... really?

Green game over Green -3 afraid to shoot once again, and can't hit the net when he does. Erskine god mode to close the year a train wreck in the playoffs.

I'm not even sure if this team makes the playoffs next year, and I bet my roommate 100 bucks after our ****** start this year that they would make the playoffs. I think we were 2-6-1 at the time.

Don't mind Oates, but his handedness stuff is a bit much. It contributed to George thinking we were stacked at RW, thus shipping Forsberg.

He does seem a bit stiff. But he was a rookie, he was learning on the fly

Interesting point on Filip. It may have also been Fehr II, and Wilson doing well.

And, they just drafted BPA and never wanted the player, just the asset.

The RW depth was just the icing on the cake.

If true, drafting BPA into a position of strength tells other GM's that someone will eventually be had on the cheap. George is not in a position of strength to deal. Everyone knew he had too many RW's.

Shero raided Carolina from a position of weakness. GMGM got raided because everyone knew he was desperate to save his own ass.

Eh, I wish we still had Forsberg to look forward to.

Just have to hope he doesn't become a star, I guess. Because if he's like a star for a decade or more, that's going to be tough to handle, maybe even tougher than this series was.

Angry and on board the fire GM train now.
