I've found that it goes both ways. I'd hate to be the coach/GM coming off a win and getting fired the next day. Makes you wonder about the timing sometimes and if guys are given a "last game" even after their fate has been decided. I always find it interesting that football teams announce that so and so won't be brought back after the season, yet let them coach the last game. It just puzzles me.

Yea the NFL is weird with "pre-firing" the coaches.

Rhetorical question: If Buffalo had won last night against Winnipeg would Ruff have just been fired after the next inevitable loss?

That's a long time for someone who didn't win. Regier likely has until the end of the season at best.

CBJ fired Howson after a win. I'd imagine that, at the point that a decision has been made, a single win or loss has little to no impact.

Never know though. I'm sure that there have been guys where the loss sealed the fate ala Grady Little.

Now Miller will have to shoulder the whining load all by himself... shame.

Not all RUffs fault though, the Bruins exposed them, resulted in a complete change in direction which resulted in a mess on the ice. But hey, at least John Scott won a fight this year.

You're welcome Buffalo..

LOL at Ruffs kid talking tough about Lucic calling him an ugly *****

Ruff's kid would **** his pants if Lucic was next to him on the ice

Was anybody really surprised by this?

The majority of the Sabres board is doing backflips right now.

Regier doing press conference now. Ron Rolston gets the job, coming up from Rochester on an interim basis for the rest of the year.

I dislike Buffalo, deeply dislike Ruff, don't care about or want rivals improving themselves, but if I'm happy for Sabres fans. That is a serious breath of fresh air. Call me crazy......

They might finally play a tough style. Instead of the signature Ruff style he encourages.

Never thought this day would come to be honest.

Won't be surprised if Ruff shows up elsewhere in the future either.

As much as I dislike his antics and whining.
