If the room needs a shake up, that would be a big one.....

current production/environment considered, i'd rather see Ott with the C than anyone else on the team.

I'm not a fan of giving the C to a brand new guy, and I don't really see any other great candidates for C on this team. Vanek? Kaleta? Miller? (unofficially), Ehrhoff? none of those guys would be great, and nobody else deserves it. Pominville keeps it by default.

Just shows the leadership this team has lacked for the past 6 years. We had to give the new guy Craig Rivet the captaincy at one point.

I would not be opposed to him taking the C away and giving Pommer an A, and just rolling with 3 As. It sends a message--even the best players on the team are going to have to earn every little thing.

I wasn't in the room, no, but there's a general consensus it wasn't Darcy's call. In fact, that consensus is going so far as to say they won't let him choose a new coach, and that's why we got Rolston. How can you explain a guy saying he hopes to work with him forever, then after a big win in Boston, a close game vs. PIT, and a 1 goal loss vs. WIN, he decides after 15 years that's enough. Sometimes you just have to see the logic.

I'm not even sure why you visit message boards if you think everything has to be verified by a fly on the wall, because most info, as Ted Black said, is left behind the curtain. Message boards are MOSTLY speculation.

Also, I do anything about Pegula saying our reason to exist is the cup, so yes, I do know what they expect. That's from the horses mouth.

Now for the funny part, how are you so sure Lindy was absolutely the problem???? Do you know something I don't???????

So your saying now that the problem is gone, here we come playoffs? It seems to me if he was the only problem, then the new coach should fix everything, right?

btw, that was a VERY original hf response.

Dark horse candidate for new HC

while I am leaning heavily towards Jon Cooper or Dallas Eakins I like the cut of this guys jib and think he might be able to get these guys to play the game the right way

edit: On a serious note the kid has great pacing and inflection. I see a lot of college students that have nowhere near that public speaking and motivational ability

He was OK but the one part he is clearly reading off the card and looks to the side for help. Not trying to nitpick but I honestly feel I could do it better.

Well, if you're older than him, which I'm assuming... I'd hope that you could do it better. He's a little boy that did a heck of a job considering his age.

Never saw that before. Awesome. Love the 'lay our digits upon thee' part. He might have a few words for our soft / passive defense.

I'm pretty sure he didn't read off the card here, and in front of almost 40k people.

I just find it odd the kid repeatedly makes a speech that was said 30 years before he was even born. Must be a kid from Minnesota, and the dad is definitely a huge hockey/Herb Brooks fan. Cute though, I laughed every time he emphasized certain words

Edit: here is an article about the kid http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puc...urn=nhl,193765

He wasn't reading off the paper because he hasn't learned to read yet (when it was made)

After reading that article I am very impressed with this kid.

Just because you look like the Gimp don't mean you play like the Gimp.

LOL

We need Jules on this team in the worst way.
