Brad Fritsch day against New York Rangers

Brad Fritsch to drop puck in ceremonial faceoff – Thursday, Feb. 21

Local golfer and 2013 PGA Tour member Brad Fritsch will conduct a ceremonial faceoff prior to the 7:30 p.m. game between the Senators and New York Rangers on Thursday, Feb. 21. Fritsch has played in five PGA tour events this year and has finished in the top 10 on one occasion. Fritsch and the Senators entered a promotional partnership this past summer with the aim of assisting him to reach his goal of earning a PGA tour card, which he accomplished in October. This season, Fritsch is sporting the Senators’ logo on both his shirt and golf bag.

You've obviously never played before or you're terrible and bitter about it.

I know the fritsch family and couldn't be happier for brad. What he's accomplished is amazing and the fact that he's holding his own on the tour thus far is remarkable. Kid from manotick on the pga tour, who wouldve ever imagined

Considering your name and avatar are poutine i am not convinced that you are an authority on what should be considered a sport. In order to be successful at golf you need to have mental toughness

FYI, BF is sponsored by the Sens.

It is cool to see how he's progressed all these years.. I never imagined he'd be as good as he's been on the PGA tour..

Its comparable to curling, not easy to do but hardly a sport.

Poker takes mental toughness, is it a sport?

Ian Mendes ‏@ian_mendes
Brad Fritsch said that Huey Lewis didn't recognize the Sens logo on his shirt at PGA event. Thought he was a fan of Gladiator movie.

I agree with poutine here. It's more of a game/leisure then a sport. To me, a sport is something that can get you in shape. Something that isn't only mentally tough, but physically tough. I don't consider fishing, bowling, golfing, driving etc to be sports. I consider running, rugby, hockey, soccer, tennis, football etc to be sports. They are demanding both physically and mentally. Not just mentally. Games can be mentally demanding, and skill based...that's what golf is.

If you can't be out of breath doing it,it's not a sport for me.

That's just my own definition of the word sport.

Googled the definition "An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others."

^i don't feel there's much physical exertion in golf...and i've played a decent amount of golf. I'm not great, but i don't suck either. When i go golfing, it's to relax and have beers. I don't think of it as a work out.

It's a game/leisure/activity, but not a sport.

I got your back poutine.

That being said WOOOO GO FRITSCH! REPPIN SENS!

He is a PGA athlete. You shouldn't take a shot at his weight like that.

Interestingly, I was this close to posting, "I've met him and he's discostu".
