Detroit just took Guillaume Lattendresse. Just felt it was worth it.
High risk high reward.

Ugh. I can't stand when people overpay to get their home town team's players.

I accept this deal. I feel I overpay a tad but hopefully I can get some steals with the upcoming picks.

You overpay? Classic response from you. Complain about most deals that are lopsided not involving you, then defend your own. It's not veto worthy at all but you didn't overpay let's be honest.

Yeah, that's ridiculous. I can't believe that one.
Agreed that it's not veto worthy, but man alive.

I'm not going to bother getting into an argument over this trade. Did you ever think maybe you're overvaluing Yakupov (as a hometown guy) and undervaluing the players I traded for?

At minimum I'm getting a 40 point winger with 60 point potential that brings a ton of hits and blocks, and the 6th overall from 2 drafts ago who brings hits and blocks with offensive upside.

But then again you think that O'Reilly is more valuable than Vanek so meh.

I'm close to letting you go from this league. You're clearly blinded from any Western teams in the league and you're disrespectful. Ask to be the Sens then just start posting about players on your trade block before I've even let you in the league. Not to mention you're little fiasco in the other thread.

No I didn't say O'Reilly was worth more than Vanek. You offered Vanek for Perron and O'Reilly and I said O'Reilly's all around game will bring him closer to Vanek in value.

I'm not overvaluing Yakupov. He's a 1st overall pick and you're giving up better picks. Kulemin's a tweener.

Anyway I feel like it's a good trade and I'm all for the betterment of my team. Again, I haven't personally attacked you or your knowledge but you continue to do so to anyone that doesn't see it your way.

He's 1st overall and yes he's a good player, but I also need to look at depth and team construction. Kulemin + Zibanejad is more valuable to me than just Yakupov. There aren't exactly cream of the crop players left to pick from, either.

Just as an example let's say that Yakupov is a 70-80 point winger that takes a lot of shots. Zibanejad has 60 point upside at least if not more, and Kulemin has put up 57 points before so when his shooting percentage normalizes he's likely to put up around 50 points again. Both Zibanejad and Kulemin hit a lot and block a lot of shots which brings up their overall value even more.

I really don't see how this is a bad trade for me but if you could explain it I'm all ears.

Kuli a 60 point potential? Man, have you seen him play? I'm not saying he's a bad player, not at all, but he ceased to be offensive after his 30 goal her. Kuli is a dependable winger with size, but will never score 60 points again. 40 at absolute best.

I would say you're the one over-valuing your players more so than I am.

Look, I don't like when people comment on trades. It's no one else's business, it's between two teams. What annoys me is when Nudge starts defending his own lopsided trades and if someone else gets a nice deal for them he just flips out over it.

He's on a 44 point pace right now and he hasn't exactly been playing great. He's also been snakebitten as hell in the NHL shooting at 5%...if he normalizes he will put up decent goals. Just look at how he played in Russia during the lockout -- there's offensive potential there. 40 points is a minimum to me though.

I get that. I think people shouldn't really comment on other peoples' trades unless they are clearly unfair. I don't think there's a clear winner in this one -- Zibanejad has a lot of upside but is a bit of a project. If he reaches his potential IMO it's a clear win for me. Oh well.
