The scoring department for your team will be determined by how guys like Alfie, Bert, Seto and Zucker perform. If Alfie, Bert, Seto can give you an average of about 45 pts, your team will do well. If Zucker gives you top 6 production you'll be set up really nicely. If he doesn't well you'll still make the playoffs if those 3 I mentioned perform.

Defense and goaltending is very good for this format.

Good team, goaltendings a bit of a question. Whitney was a good pick I considered him a couple times. If he plays next year it's a good pick at least.

Yeah, very true, I drafted Lehner pretty early too for that reason. Pretty high on him, and see Bob as a decent stop gap option.

Thoughts on my team currently?

I'm not really sure how this league is set up (I was told they don't differentiate between left and right wingers?) but...

Centers: Sidney Crosby, Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kelly, Darren Helm
Wingers: Thomas Vanek, Nikolai Kulemin, Dustin Penner, Ville Leino, Daniel Paille, Zac Dalpe, Jakob Silfverberg, David Moss
Defence: Kevin Shattenkirk, Christian Ehrhoff, Jared Cowen, Tim Gleason, Brandon Gormley
Goalies: Craig Anderson

Prospects + Extras: Mark Stone, Griffin Reinhart

I feel like the entry draft should be randomized.

Why? This is as close as how we'd always do it anyways.

i just think it would be more fun if it was randomized! JM we should do a chatzy and you could pull names from a hat and announce selection by selection live.

If the best team in the league ends up with Jones, Drouin or MacKinnon there will be complaints and we all know it.

well tough luck! I wouldn't complain id be happy for whoever won! A player should not be penalized with a low pick for drafting good! Everybody should have a fair shot at #1!

I agree. What's more fair then the worst team getting the best pick. YOu want this league to be as real as possible. Then JM way is the best. Why do randomize?

But I do agree we do lottery draft for the bottom feeder. We should follow the nhl to the letter.

We should have a lottery draft for the top 7 bottom team.

What you think JM?

Nudge I feel your only saying this because your team is not up to par. It's not fair that the slackers who didn't take the time to organize a good draft strategy get an automatic bailout. Lets be honest if Jones was fair game in the draft he would have gone second round easily if not first. The people that world hard to draft the best team possible should have just as fair as a chance as the people who didn't

I don't want to make a big stink out of this I believe JM will make the right choice

Thanks

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm voting Nudge's team 1st overall in the league.

Yeah, I don't get why people get rewarded for half-assed drafting.

I could see it if you just reversed the previous order (though I far prefer randomization), but to base it on a vote?

I'm not trying to be critical, but it feels a little bush league. Just my opinion.

I like my team and the only reason I hate radomize is because I always get the worst spot. I know how to draft and please can we just change subject. JM said he wanted to do it and that should be final. I wouldn't trade my team for any.

Having CoreyPerry-Kopitar-Yakupov - amazing. My team may be young but I know my startegy will work. I knew when I was drafting my team wouldn't be a contender right away. I wanted a challenge, so I drafted young. I want a elite team in the near future.

Don't ever come to me and tell I don't know what I'm talking about. I made alot of great trade and will make my team a contender in a year or two.

So let's agree to disagree and let's move on from this subject.

your team won't be much good. Every year you'll be a team that barely make it or barely don't. Why not try to draft a team that will either be amazing now or in a couple year and get good draft position. I'm calling San Jose the Calgary of the NHL. Sorry but I just don't see anything speciale from this team.

The weak teams need to be helped. I'm not running a league that has rosters with 7 forwards and 4 defenseman on their team and then just a bunch of mediocre prospects. I want teams to be equal because then we won't have a problem attracting people to the league. No one wants to take over an awful roster. Not to mention it gives us something to do after the draft is over.

I don't think anyone here has done a half ass job of drafting so no one is being rewarded for it really.

After not having any defenseman it didn't turn out horrible at all. I recommend drafting some good prospects though. That is an old group you've got.
