Any markets that stand out as having big payrolls to a smaller metro area? Or vice-versa? (I know Houston is having problems with rebuilding their team for the AL so payroll will be small for awhile)
St. Louis and Cincinnati stand out as smaller markets with both spending over $100 million. Atlanta is a huge market and spending only $90 million which is an ownership thing since they signed an awful TV deal that extends for another 20 years IIRC. They signed this deal a few years before all of these huge TV deals started taking place. If they could do it over again at the very least they wouldn't have signed a contract for as long as they did.
