Goodell looks to fix what isn't broken again

Quote:
@AdamSchefter: NFL is proposing to overhaul its calendar, pushing back the combine to early March, free agency to early April, and the draft to early May.

It's the first step to him getting his wish of having Football 24/7/365.

Next up. Super Bowl to be played on President's Day Weekend!

In the grand scheme of things, it's a pretty minor change. Really the only impact would be that rookies and free agents have less time before training camp to learn the playbook and get acquainted with their new teams.

It's fine the way it is, but if they change the schedule it would just get a big "meh" from me. Not a big deal.

Whatever. The combine and draft being a week or two later isn't a big deal.

Shouldn't the thread title be edited to say what this is actually about?

Of all the things to complain about, slightly reconfiguring the offseason is pretty low on my list.

So everything gets pushed back 2-3 weeks?

Gee, I wonder what they're making room for.

Always looking for a change, it's annoying. NFL is one of the biggest sports in the world the way it is, no need to change anything at all

Better to keep changing and pushing the envelope then just stagnate, baseball style.

But baseball doesn't stagnate. In fact, you could say that baseball is changing and pushing the envelope right now.

You could go to the baseball forum, make "Selig looks to fix what isn't broken", and have a perfectly good conversation just as insightful as this thread.
