I agree with whoever posted the Brown/Hank hit. Unsuspecting and a little "dirty" but clean hit by the rules.

Not suspendable.

Lets put it this way, if the NHL finds a way to suspend Olver for that hit and they didn't give Stuart anything for the Landeskog hit, they are seriously screwed up and probably need to take some time to re-evaluate their guidelines for suspensions.

TSN says it was 8 frames. So definitely not considered late (15 frames is the cutoff)

That doesn't really make sense.
How much more do I need to simplify it? He came in high on Tarasenko all the way. It wasn't one of those where you hit the guys chest and expose upward. He hit him square in the jaw. That is a head shot.

And no one from the Blues did squat. I guess the players expect the trainers to take of business.

I would post the video but then hawks/oiler/flames/ fans would accuse another canuck fan of turning every thread into a canuck topic, even though the hits are very similar.

Clean hit, but unfortunate results. Hope Tarasenko can heal quickly.

Kinda sad how every big hit now days is considered dirty. Hockey is a violent game and sometimes bad things happen. This is just one of those cases.

The hit is fine, but hate seeing anybody go down like that especially a rookie. Havlat all over again the way he dropped.

Hopefully he returns this year...

I already posted it.

This hit was deemed clean last year, and the guy getting hit (Sedin) agreed.

Lets be honest here, it's Brendan Shannahan. Who knows what they're goin to do. And for the record the Stuart hit most definitely deserved a suspension.

Good hit keep your head up kid. Said the same thing when Landeskog got hit. That was also a clean hit.

Everyone was probably scared of Bordy running them. The next game should be interesting.

So he's not allowed to skate normally? He has to come in for a hit hunched over?

He hit him in the jaw with his shoulder/elbow/arm/whatever you want to call it. He hit him above the shoulders. Hence the word high.

In the final minutes of a 0-0 game, would you have rather someone jumped Oliver and taken a penalty or wait for Stewart or Reaves to fight someone at the beginning of the next game? Come on, man.

Kronwall on a flyer. Voracek, I think.

They have been consistent on not suspending for this type of hit. Dates all the way back to the Malone hit on (some guy) during preseason last year which Shanahan put out a video explaining why the department of player safety was okay with it.

You don't have to agree that this type of hit should be legal, but Shanahan's been consistent as death and taxes in not suspending for it.

Not saying it was dirty but two people can play that petty game...I know you are upset because your most promising player got hurt (Landeskog) but that doesn't mean every subsequent hit has anything to do with your invested emotions.

The way I see it happening is that Olver was coming in to support the puck, Tarasenko turned around at the last minute, and Olver just decided to hit him anyway.

.. But seriously hope Tarasenko is ok. He looked mangled for abit there. Won't comment on if it was a clean or dirty hit because honestly nowadays who knows. Growing up that would have been legal, nowadays I'm not sure. Either way sucks when a young gun goes does, as we Av fans know with Lando.

Surprised nobody on the Blues did anything about it. Game got pretty rough and there was def some jawing from the benches but nothing ended up happening.
