I don't have a good feeling about this one. 4-1 Wild.

Oh come now, where is the stupidity in wanting to trade everyone who didn't score (including Dubnyk), suggesting that Krueger be replaced with MacT, that the team needs Omark back to offer a little more offense to the fourth line, that there is one 'best' line combination that Krueger hasn't tried yet (an indication of his ineptitude), new age hockey, and that one of Hall or Eberle need to be traded?

That being said (or rather, facetiously pointed out), there are often genuine concerns that surface after a loss like Whitney, Smyth's atrocious play, Gagner's fit as a 2nd line center (my favorite), soft goals by Dubnyk, and the teams inability to score. And some of these are quite indicative of a shortcoming in the team's composition.

Its the fickle rollercoaster ride that is being a fan of a building team on the cusp of something special... that is, if we believe the hype (or rather, the organization's marketing strategy).

So if we beat Minny, and CBJ beats Detroit, would that put us into the 8th and final playoff spot after tonight?

Pretty tight in the West right now, and probably will be for the rest of the season

Edit-i think we lose the tiebreaker, so 9th or 10th

Epic GDT, kudos!

This is about as close to a must win scenario as it gets this early in the season. With the trip of death looming on the horizon, this team needs to stock the cupboards up with a few points and generate confidence in their game before saddling up to go out the forbidden lands.

4-2 Slickers.

Pretty much.

Also, don't forget the people who only come out when the Oilers lose. Or hoping for the Oilers to lose.

Really awesome GDT. I am hoping for an exciting one but since neither team can score 5x5 I expect this will be yet another dull Oilers vs Wild game where most of the plays are broken up in the neutral zone.

Until this team ices a more balanced attack, especially in our top 6 I don't think we will see enough offence. I think we need to get Eberle and Yakupov going.
I would like to see these lines:

Hall Gagner Hemsky
Eberle Hopkins Yakupov
PRV Belanger Harti
Smyth VV Eager
Petrell

Why do so many of you think this is an automatic win for the Wild? I don't feel that way at all and I'm a Wild fan! I think you could literally flip a coin in order to predict who is going to win.

I hope it's a good, clean game and good luck to you guys!

not stupidity. honest concern. how many losses do you want before people admit the oilers might not be doing so well? if they lose tonight, won't that be 2 wins in 10 games? that's not very competitive.
I'm not considering the season a success if they are 14th in the conference, but lose by less.

15 games. 6 wins. 3 in regulation. with yet another loss and another game with 2 or less goals, the reactions here will not be stupidity but rightful concern about the direction this team is going.

Because the Wild have historically owned us the last 3-4 years and the Aeros did this year as well.

I love how Belanger's highlight is just him taking a faceoff, lol.

Agree with the posters who have been suggesting trying Eberle on the left and moving Yak to the right. Would love to see how that would work.

I guess rookie goalie Darcy Kuemper is starting for Minnesota tonight. I learned that from reading the Wild forum GDT. I also learned that, I suppose, Taylor Hall has somehow offended them, since a few posters want... shall we say "bad things"... to happen to him tonight.

I would assume they're still not too happy about Hall injuring Brodin while they were in the AHL earlier in the lock-out.

edit:
