Kirk Muller is in no danger in Carolina. They're nowhere near the situation Buffalo is in.
If there was a Smiley for "tongue planted firmly in cheek" I would have used it. Kirk Muller's job as coach is certainly not in jeopardy for this season - I was just listing all the factors which should be in the Jets' favour for a win tonight, because Lindy Ruff was canned by the Sabres after a terrible effort the other night.
It's not just Murphy that is green though. They have 4 defensemen who haven't even played a full 82 games yet for their career and the 2 "experienced" guys (Harrison and Corvo) we thought would be our bottom pairing at the start of the season.
Here is the experience of Carolina's blue line for tonight:
Murphy: 0 GP
Faulk: 79 GP
Harrison: 216 GP
Corvo: 653 GP
If this is true, the Jets should be laying out hits every single opportunity given - make the 'Canes Baby D fear for their very lives. Maybe Byfuglien should just crank somebody like on Tuesday's game to send an early warning - prepare for eternity if they touch the puck.
