My beef with the tournament is how nearly every district bleeds into the Twin Cities, especially in AA.

I mean really, 6 of the 8 from the Twin Cities metro? This seems pretty typical in recent memory.

I don't give a fiddler's fart if they are the best teams. I grew up with one tournament, and it was much more magical than watching the privates and the rich suburbs battle it out year in year out. It's a STATE tournament, not a Twin Cities tournament.

It makes hockey look like a cake-eater sport.

/end rant/

Not the kids fault, and it's good hockey, but the governance is f#$%%d up I think.

If you wanna talk about it, you fans of NHL realignment, there is a huge competitive advantage to metro area teams. Their travel times are miniscule compared to what out-state teams put up with. They are the Eastern conference of HS hockey.

My roommate went to Eastview. Really wish they would have won that one.

This has a been a damn good game. That Hill team - game - looked nothing like the one I saw last year...nothing. The Hill team last year were throwing bone crushing checks like I had never seen before in HS.

Not to digress. The Moorhead-DE game so far was the best, followed by the one we're watching now.

They are struggling with the ultra aggressive play from Centennial.

More back and forth action in this period than in an entire Wild game.

Centennial plays a good system, feels like it has a purpose.

Wayzata looks like they have better individual skills though.

Love the crash the net mentality, but keep it within reason.

Centennial has more speed, and they obviously love to use it.

Wayzata just seems to be lacking the finishers. They've had chances but have fanned on a number of shots and just aren't able to gain complete control of the puck fast enough.

Seriously, 3 times is too many. And they don't even try to get out of the way on those.

Seems they are almost desperate to get a shot off before a defender pounces on them. I think the aggressiveness of Centennial's game is causing that.
