Just close it, it will be the same thing we encounter every time Couts is involved in a trade scenario on this board. Also don't like that deal from the Flyers POV.

Feeling like Philly will not like it. Not just because Couts is involved but they also kind of have a thing for Simmonds as well.

okay thought it was close both ways... 80pt winger, top 4 d for potential C for the leafs at a deep pos for the flyers and a 2nd line winger...

The Flyers aren't that deep at center. Giroux, Briere, Schenn, Couturier (with Laughton coming up). Briere will be gone in a couple of years (retirement/FA) and I'm sure Philadelphia's plan is to make Couturier one of the best 3rd line centers in the NHL. Any of these guys can be moved to wing too, so they kind of need them for now and the future. Couturier is so young, nobody knows how high is ceiling is now, which makes me think they'll take their chances.

am i the only one who thinks kessel is overrated, he had 82 points one year besides that he's a career average is like 54 points a year which is still respectable but some people make him out to be fantastic, on the plus side its nice to see a proposal without gardiner. I don't see the flyers moving their most valuable trade piece and for a wing though

I think it is close in value both ways too, but that does not mean it is a good trade for both sides. PHI is apparently set on keeping Couturier around for the long haul (i.e. not trading him for fair value) and Gunnarson does not really do anything for them as they are not having a quantity problem on D, but a quality one.

Huge no from Philly.

The whole point of the new Flyers is being physical, tougher, and tough defensively. Dropping both Couturier and Simmonds for marginal and realistically pointless return is not happening.

I don't think that the Flyers are going to trade Couturier. I really don't. But if they do, I can't imagine it would be for a goal-scoring winger.

Leaf's fans: The reason why we are trading a centre is to play with Kessel so this does not work
Flyers fans: Coutier is not available.

Just close it

Feels good having such a desirable 20 year old center.

plus the flyers lose out on this trade. Couturier will be better than kessel and Simmonds is awesome. Kessel is immensely talented, but who cares. Couturier and Simmonds bring a lot more than Kessel and Gunnerson.

tends to happen with talented offensive players on bad teams

Kessel is fast with a great wrist shot
would be a great 2nd line player for a contending team

I'd like a deal based around Couturier for Kessel but losing one of our best wingers in the process kind of makes it redundant.

Why the hell did we trade Richards and Carter? Because you asking for more than we got for either of them. Would easily take either one of those 2 over Kessel any day of the week.
